Jay Maynor, 41, shot and killed his daughter’s molester

raymond_earl_brooks_1_-_qp1The attorney for a father who gunned down his daughter’s molester says the first degree murder charge against his client should be dropped. On Sunday, Jay Maynor, 41, of Cullman, Alabama allegedly drove his motorcycle to the home of Raymond Earl Brooks and shot Brooks to death with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol. In 2002, Brooks pleaded guilty to sexually abusing Maynor’s then-8-year-old daughter. Cullman County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Max Bartlett said Brooks was struck with two shots, one in each arm, at least one of which traversed his torso.
