Child Abuse Victim Says Empathy Needed

Melissa Owens’ childhood was riddled with abuse of every kind. But today, at 35, she’s done with the title of “victim.” Owens spoke Friday at the Child Abuse Prevention Service Providers Conference, sharing her personal story of sexual, physical, mental and emotional abuse from two alcohol- and drug-addicted parents.
