A Calvert man accused of badly burning a 2-year-old girl has been arrested in Robertson County.

Brandon Deon Stewart, 25, was taken into custody Sunday night after Bryan police had posted a bulletin asking for the public’s help in tracking him down.

Authorities say Stewart was left in charge of babysitting the child Wednesday. They say when the mother returned from work, the girl was seriously injured.

She was taken to the St. Joseph Regional Health Center Emergency Room where she was treated for liquid burns to her legs and genitals. She was then air lifted to Shriners Hospital in Galveston where she’s currently in stable condition.
