AUGUSTA, Maine — A Maine man insisted he is not a violent person, as he was sentenced Friday to seven years in prison for shaking his 6-month-old daughter so forcefully it left her brain damaged, a quadriplegic and unable to see or hear. The baby, now in foster care, must be fed through a tube and is expected to die prematurely. Kevin Peaslee, 22, told the judge his daughter had been extra fussy that December day because she had received shots the previous day. He was home alone with her and playing a video game, according to court documents.

Online Bullying Doubling

The number of children being bullied on the internet has doubled this year, with more than one in three now victims, research suggests. In a poll of 11 to 17-year-olds, 35% reported that they have experienced cyber-bullying – compared with 16% last year. Four in 10 said they had witnessed others being picked on online – almost double the 22% recorded last year.

190 Pedophiles Exposed by ‘Anonymous’ Hacker Group

190 alleged pedophiles and their IP addresses have been revealed by Anonymous. The pedophiles were gathered from a site that is invisible to everyday web users. The site is called ‘Darknet’. Regular posters were tricked into downloading tracker software, enabling Anonymous to ‘out’ the criminal activity involving child pornography. Anonymous activated ‘Operation Darknet’ to campaign against the child porn groups; gaining a large community support in light of law enforcement criticism. It was also commented upon that ‘…there also was a large amount of resistance from the pedophile community claiming that Tor was their safe haven with messages such as: “We are here to stay. It is our god given right that we can choose to have our sexual preferences for youth….It is the same for the any other porn community. It is not what we choose to become, it is who we are. You do not have the right to censor us.’

One survey found 95 percent of teenagers ages 12-17 use the Internet. And 81 percent of those use social networks. By law, children to be at least 13 years old to join many of them, too. Those early years are key to development as kids learn how to interact with each other and the world. So what is all of that social media time doing for them socially?

Death Penalty Sought In Murder

DEKALB COUNTY, Georgia — A DeKalb man will now face the death penalty for the murder of 9-month-old Ken Darious Edwards Jr. The DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office filed a notice of intent to seek the death penalty on November 12, against Devin Thomas. “Because of the egregious nature of this senseless crime, my office had no choice but to seek the death penalty regarding the death of an innocent baby,” said District Attorney Robert James. Two members of the Bloods street gang were recently indicted on eight felony counts after being charged with Edwards’ death.

Teacher, Ex-Husband Charged With Raping Son

OHIO — An Ohio elementary school teacher and her ex-husband face a total of 78 counts in the rape of the woman’s son. On Monday, Lori Ann Anderson, 50, pleaded not guilty to 25 counts, including sexual battery and gross sexual imposition. Charles Wycuff, 53, who split with Anderson in 2003, faces 53 counts including rape using force, coercion and drugs. He remains in Auglaize County Jail. Anderson was released Monday afternoon, after posting bond.

Mother, Boyfriend Starved Four Children To Near Death

A North Carolina mother has been arrested and charged with sickening child abuse after allegedly locking her four children away in a room and intentionally starving them to the brink of death. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested Ronika Bell, 28, and her partner, Deron Cuthbertson after she dumped her children aged 10 to six with her estranged husband and their biological father in Florida. Appalled at their gaunt and skeletal features, Joshua Bell tried to feed his kids, only to find they were too starved to swallow having been locked away for six months, so he rushed them to the ER for treatment.

New Documentary Will Name Hollywood Child Molesters

An explosive documentary debuting at a New York film festival on Friday is set to name a list of men who have allegedly sexually abused minors in Hollywood. An Open Secret, a documentary by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Amy Berg, will screen at the DOC NYC festival on November 14. It features interviews with men who say they were sexually abused or exploited by Hollywood agents or movie bigwigs when they were children. Among the men named are managers Marty Weiss, Michael Harrah and Bob Villard – Leonardo DiCaprio’s former agent – and internet company owners Marc Collins-Rector and Chad Shackley.

Three Police Agencies Accused of Failing to Act On Child Porn Intelligence

Three police forces in Britain are under investigation for allegedly failing to act on child porn intelligence, it has emerged. Police watchdog, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC), is looking into Essex, North Yorkshire and North Wales police forces in relation to the way it handled intelligence received from the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (Ceop). The move comes after Essex Police referred itself to the IPCC following a delay in acting on an intelligence package from the National Crime Agency (NCA) in November 2013, which identified now-deceased teacher Martin Goldberg as a potential pedophile.

Accused pedophiles are importing child-like sex dolls – but claiming they are harmless toys to avoid prosecution. One Sydney man is expected to fight a charge of possessing one of the dolls, insisting it is not child abuse material. A man has been charged with possessing a silicon sex doll, allegedly in the shape of a teenage girl. In a case that is thought to be one of the first of its kind in NSW, the man will reportedly allege that he does not fit the legal definition of a child abuser. If the defense of his case, thought to be the first of its kind in NSW, is successful, the 32-year-old it could force the government to rethink what is defined as child sex abuse.

A pedophile doctor used tiny video cameras hidden in pens to film himself abusing young cancer patients, it has emerged. And the 18 boys as young as eight molested by pediatric consultant Myles Bradbury are probably only a fraction of his victims – as a series of official blunders gave him time to destroy his sick library of films. The doctor was left free for 16 months to wage his campaign of abuse by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP).

Parent Advisory: Laundry Pods Poisoning Children

According to Pediatrics Online, there were more than 17,000 poison center calls involving children under the age of 6 accidentally swallowing the pods. One child died last year. Last year a Florida mother of a 7-month-old came back to her room to find that her baby had accidentally eaten one of those bright colored laundry detergent pods. He had been sleeping in a laundry basket with the pod when it happened. They rushed him to the hospital, but it was too late. He died, of poisoning from the detergent, according to the Kissimmee, Florida, police department. He is not the first child to mistake the potent packet for something else.

Scott McMillan’s Final Moments

A third person has been arrested and charged in connection to the beating death and alleged torture of a 3-year-old boy in Pennsylvania. Jillian Tait, 31, and Gary Lee Fellenbaum, 23, were charged Thursday with murdering Tait’s son, Scott McMillan in what Chester County District Attorney Thomas Hogan has referred to as ‘an American horror story’. The couple allegedly hung little Scott by his legs, tortured him for weeks and smashed his head into the wall before beating him to death. Police arrested Fellenbaum’s wife, 21-year-old Amber Fellenbaum, who allegedly witnessed the beatings but did nothing to stop the violence.
