SAN FRANCISCO — A woman who has a restraining order against the man who falsely claimed to have murdered JonBenet Ramsey said Wednesday the former suspect is living as a woman and trying to form a cult of little girls to have sex with him.

RICHMOND, Va. — A man convicted of molesting children in Virginia who was on the U.S. Marshals list of 15 most wanted fugitives has been caught in California.

Marshals say 73-year-old Paul Clouston was arrested Tuesday in Merced, Calif.

Sandy Ridge, NC – On April 22, William Plaster Jr. and Shannon Fortenberry had their 4-month-old son seen in the emergency room at Morehead Memorial Hospital. An examination of the infant revealed three broken ribs, a broken right leg and severe head trauma that resulted in retinal and brain hemorrhaging. An MRI showed signs of healing ribs, a sure sign of previous abuse. The baby boy is currently in a permanent vegetative state with irreversible neurological damage – he is not expected to survive.

BROOKSVILLE — All six children had lice in their hair, some with infestations so bad they had rashes along their hairlines. Most of them had gone without a bath for days, if not weeks. Another had roach bites all over her back.

And the family’s 6-month-old boy was drinking from a bottle “so dirty that it was black in color,” the detective wrote in his report. Inside the bottle, a dead roach was floating around in liquid.

Missouri–A Holts Summit man has been charged with one count of first-degree child molestation and one count of first-degree statutory sodomy after admitting to police that he performed sex acts on a 6-year-old girl.

Anthony Ryan Basnett, 26, was apprehended after the victim’s mother contacted police and told them of the incidents.

A 4-year-old Portsmouth girl who was dropped off at school six hours later than she should have been was on her school bus the entire time.

Police have arrested the girl’s bus driver, 56-year-old Joan Pierce. She is charged with child abuse and neglect.

Sarasota, Florida – Sarasota Sheriff’s detectives have arrested a 24-year-old man, charging him with child abuse for getting drunk and sleeping on top of his newborn son.

Investigators say Jonathon Ponder’s 4-month-old son has permanent brain, liver and kidney damage.

MADISON, Wis. — A Town of Madison woman who pleaded no contest to 22 felony child abuse charges was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision.

Minerva Lopez, 34, was accused along with her husband, Porfino Olivas-Lopez, of beating, choking and kicking a 14-year-old girl.

SALT LAKE COUNTY — A Taylorsville man who chaperoned a school field trip now faces a child abuse charge. Prosecutors allege the 39-year-old man got too rough while trying to keep control of students on the bus.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports the man accompanied a class from Arcadia Elementary School on an April 21.

Police have arrested the 22-year-old live-in boyfriend of a woman whose 7-year-old daughter contracted a sexually transmitted disease, charging him with second-degree rape.

The suspect, a West Baltimore man who is not being identified to protect the privacy of the victim, was arrested Tuesday after giving an account of the incident to detectives in the Police Department’s child abuse unit. The girl was taken to University of Maryland Medical Center on May 11 and was found to have gonorrhea.

COVINGTON – A 23-year-old man accused of getting his 2-year-old stepdaughter drunk already has been convicted of abusing the child in another state, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Raymond Jackson was arrested May 22 after his wife came home from work to find the toddler passed out at the couple’s Crescent Springs apartment.

Over a few months last year, three-year-old Charles “Mike Mike” Bradley was beaten, shaken and punched so hard that he flew through the air in what a longtime Anne Arundel County prosecutor said was the worst case of fatal child abuse she has prosecuted in 24 years.

Andre Clay Russell Jr., 29, of Severn, admitted Wednesday that he inflicted the fatal abuse last summer to the son of his former girlfriend. Russell pleaded guilty before Judge Paul A. Hackner to child abuse resulting in death and child abuse. Assistant State’s Attorney Kathleen Rogers said she intends to seek the maximum sentence, 55 years, for Russell. No sentencing date has been scheduled.
