GENESEE COUNTY, Michigan – A Mid-Michigan father is charged with sex crimes against his toddler son. Twenty-two-year-old Dustin Griffin is accused of sexually assaulting his 17-month-old son and shooting him in the head with a pellet gun.

A disgraced former headmaster of a $27,000-a-year prep school has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for dealing child pornography. Christopher Wheeler, 54, who worked at the exclusive Tower Hill school in Delaware, had more than 2,000 images and videos of boys engaging in sex acts with men when police raided his $350,000 mansion in Wilmington in October 2013. One of those showed a naked boy with his head being held by an adult male while performing a sex act. Court documents say Wheeler was running Net Shred – a program designed to eradicate internet history – when authorities knocked on his door.

A man who ran for Lehman Township tax collector is heading to Pike County Court on 66 counts of child sexual abuse. At the end of a Wednesday preliminary hearing, a district judge found sufficient evidence to send the case against Hal Harris, 47, of Bushkill, to county court, where Harris can go to trial, plead guilty or plead no contest. Harris had posted bail and been released from custody as of Thursday, according to court records.

MICHIGAN – Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has announced charges against a mom they say gave birth to a baby boy and then put him inside a bag, causing his death. The Wayne County Prosecutor announced charges Friday against 25-year-old Kimberly Pappas in relation to a newborn boy found dead inside a desk drawer in March. The press release says Pappas gave birth to the boy in the bathroom of Ceva Logistics. Worthy said she then put the boy inside a plastic bag and then inside a tote bag near her desk.

Update: The boyfriend of the mother in question was a person of interest. Now it has been confirmed that he is in police custody in connection with the death of her child. His name has not been revealed, pending formal charges. A Missouri woman has been charged with with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child after her 17-month-old daughter was found dead Sunday morning. Local police are saying it’s one of the worst cases of child abuse they’ve ever seen. The child’s mother, 21-year-old Taylor Lynn Fast, called 911 to say her daughter Layla had been bitten by a spider. However, when officers arrived at her home, it was blatantly apparent that the infant’s injuries couldn’t have been caused by an insect bite. Instead, they found the little girl dead and covered with bruises.

UTAH – A former Utah high school teacher accused of having sex with three of her male students took a plea deal Wednesday to avoid a trial, sobbing as she accepted the agreement in court. One of the boys was 16 and two were 17 when they were having sex with Davis High School English teacher Brianne Altice, 35. One testified that he considered her to be his girlfriend during their yearlong tryst. But the boys were all minors, and Utah law also says a person cannot consent to sex if the other person is in a position of special trust. Altice could face up to 45 years in prison when she is sentenced next month.

KENNER, LA – A man has been charged with three counts of aggravated rape against a 10-year-old girl after video surfaced of him with the victim. The mother found cell phone video recorded by her daughter. In the video, the victim says she “made love” with the mother’s boyfriend three times. The woman confronted her daughter about the video, and the girl said it happened in her bedroom.

OSWEGO, NY — An Oswego man who was charged last month with raping and sexually abusing multiple children was arrested in 2009 for failing to care for his 14-month-old twins. Richard Graham Jr., 33, of Furniss Station Road was charged last month with 20 felonies and two misdemeanors after Oswego County sheriff’s deputies said he raped and sexually abused four children, and raped one adult.

MOUNDS, Oklahoma – Authorities in Creek County are looking for a couple wanted for child abuse and neglect after finding a malnourished infant in cardiac arrest. Mounds Police say Cody and Amanda Haynes are wanted for felony child abuse by injury and four counts of child neglect. Cody Haynes could be armed and dangerous, a news bulletin states.

UK – Alleged child abuse victims of Labour peer Greville Janner last night accused police and prosecutors of a 45-year cover-up over a tidal wave of evidence he is a predatory pedophile. The 86-year-old party grandee was accused of being ‘Labour’s Cyril Smith’ and an ‘animal’ as prosecutors revealed he escaped prosecution three times over 16 years thanks to botched investigations. Janner is accused of preying on vulnerable boys at three Leicester care homes between 1969 and 1988. Prosecutors said there remained an ‘overwhelming case’ to charge the former MP with 22 sex attacks on nine victims in children’s care homes – the youngest of whom was just ten.
