Albuquerque, New Mexico – Six adults were arrested, and 17 children were placed in protective custody, after police discovered them all living together in a filthy casa, with no food, very little clothing, and only four mattresses. Let’s just think about that for a moment. 23 people, 4 mattresses and few articles of clothing. According to New Mexico authorities, 17 children were placed in protective custody back in October when deputies dropped by the family’s casa and discovered the children living in a home that was filthy and smelled strongly of urine and feces. Investigators say the children belong to five siblings and one cousin who share the same residence.

Las Cruces, New Mexico – David M. Lanning, a 27-year-old Las Cruces man was jailed Thursday after he allegedly raised his family in a virtual litter box. According to Las Cruces police, a home littered from wall to wall with pet feces and urine was discovered by a New Mexico social worker who then notified police. Investigators say when police entered the home, they found the entire floor covered with urine and feces resulting from 17 cats and 4 dogs who lived with the family. The odor from the filth was so strong, it reportedly caused breathing disorders for the whole family. Authorities deemed the home a health hazard.

Springfield, MO — Busted back in ’93 for sodomizing a 14-year-old boy, sex offender James Bays is back behind bars – this time he’s accused of sodomizing his girlfriend’s two young sons. According to police, Bays initiated contact with the boys’ mother on the internet earlier this year and by October, the two were involved in a romantic relationship. Whether he informed the woman of his offender status is debatable…police believe he did, she says he didn’t. Anyway, after about two months of dating, the woman’s 10-year-old son came forward and told her Bays had touched him inappropriately.

MOBILE, Ala. — Police in Mobile, Alabama, have arrested a 27-year-old father and accused him of abusing his two young children, who authorities now believe are dead. John Joseph DeBlase faces two counts of aggravated child abuse and two counts of abuse of a corpse, according to a statement from Mobile Police Department Friday. “Based on what he’s told us, we believe” the children are dead, Mobile Police Chief Micheal T. Williams told reporters on Friday.

A NURSE has been jailed for nine years after raping a 17-year-old girl at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital and sexually assaulting another patient in her bed. Oliver Balicao, 37, was convicted of raping the teenager in a side room in the accident and emergency department at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington and sexually assaulting a 22-year-old student. Judge Stephen John was told yesterday that Philippines-born Balicao was working as a nurse at the JR when he raped the teenager in October 2004.

On Nov. 24, 1958, teenager Barbara Johnson held the daughter she had just given birth to at a doctor’s office in Williston, looked into her blue eyes and said, “Some day, you will come find me. I know you will — you’ve got to.” Today, 70-year-old Barbara Johnson Weeks Rainey is living in Alabama and still waiting to find the daughter she gave life to and then gave up to what she thought was a legitimate adoption agency in Gainesville. What she says she later discovered was that “Col.” Robert Ryan, the man running Gainesville’s Southern Rescue Workers’ maternity home — the unlicensed facility where Barbara lived during her pregnancy — was actually selling the babies born of the mothers living there.

OMAHA, Neb. — A Sidney woman sexually abused her son and allowed a man now serving a life sentence for child pornography to do the same, according to court records. The 40-year-old mother remained in jail Sunday on charges of sexual assault of a child and conspiracy. The Associated Press isn’t using her name in order to protect the privacy of the boy, who will turn 10 this month. Court documents show he’s been placed in state custody. The mother hasn’t yet entered a plea, according to court records. She’s due back in court Dec. 14.

A 20-year-old Houston man has been charged with child abuse, accused of beating and burning his 3-year-old stepdaughter in October. Brodreck Lee Hearne is accused of fracturing the skull and burning the genitals of his wife’s daughter while he was baby-sitting on Oct. 14. Hearne, who was arrested Thursday night, told police he was smoking marijuana at home in the 10600 block of Meadowglen while the child was in the shower, according to court documents. After he heard a bump, he said, he found the girl on the floor near the bathtub. He told police the girl was injured when she fell out of the tub.

Police said the toddler suffered a broken skull and her brain was swollen and bleeding. She also had bruises on her face, arms, legs and chest. Investigators found she had bruises and burns to her genitals, court records show. It’s unclear how she received the burns. After she was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital by ambulance, the girl told doctors that Hearne “whipped” her.

North Charleston, SC — An 18-month-old boy is hospitalized in critical condition after police say he was hanged by his ankles in a closet and repeatedly beaten by three teenage boys – the child’s mother has been arrested for allowing it to happen. Hospital staff alerted authorities Tuesday evening after the child was found to be suffering from numerous injuries including bruises and lacerations to his back, chest and abdomen, multiple lacerations of his liver, spleen and pancreas and five fractured ribs. Doctors also discovered an old skull fracture that had healed.

San Diego, CA –A prominent La Jolla Realtor and mother of three was in court Thursday admitting to charges she severely scratched and pinched eight babies to the point of bleeding. Lisa Hench, 45, was charged with eight misdemeanor counts of corporal injury on a child for her bizarre actions. Police say she would befriend parents of young children at a La Jolla school and ask to hold their babies.

Brian Richard Gray, 32, was arrested last month in Notasulga, Ala., shortly after Oconee County authorities filed charges of child molestation, statutory rape and burglary in connection to a relationship Gray had with a 16-year-old girl. “Their relationship started in the youth group in Monroe in Walton County, but we found that the actual sexual acts took place in Barrow County,” said Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith. “We executed a search warrant on his house and found evidence that corroborated the fact that he brought her to his house.”

Wisconsin–A Cascade man has been arrested on charges that he repeatedly sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl whom he met on Facebook. The suspect, Devan R. Hill, 20, could face up to 25 years in prison after admitting to the charges on Wednesday. Police say they learned of the victim after rumors began surfacing at the school that she was pregnant.

LOS ANGELES ( KTLA) — The FBI is warning parents that a new Barbie doll could be used against little girls, possibly by pedophiles. “Video Girl Barbie” has a camera in her chest that can record up to 30 minutes of video, which can be streamed to a computer. In a Nov. 30th memo, the FBI dubbed the doll a “possible child pornography production method.” Authorities say there have been no incidents so far.
