A 53-year-old Omaha child care provider was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of felony child abuse involving an 11-month-old boy. Sandra Johnson, of 3930 N. 19th St., allegedly broke the boy’s left arm Sunday while he was at her home child-care business, police said. Police went to Creighton University Medical Center to investigate the injury. Johnson, also known as Sandra L. Minor, grew frustrated and allegedly grabbed the boy by the arm, said Officer Michael Pecha, a police spokesman.

PHOENIX — The daughter of a county supervisor has been arrested on suspicion of sexual conduct with the same teenage boy that her mother is accused of sexually abusing over a three-year period, police said Thursday. Rachel Katherine Brock, 21, was arrested Wednesday on three counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of transmitting obscene material as part of an ongoing investigation surrounding her mother, 48-year-old Susan Brock.

CANTON, Miss. — Canton police are investigating the rape of a 5-year-old girl, Chief Vicki McNeil said.The incident took place on Sunday, McNeil said. The child is expected to be released from a local hospital on Tuesday, she said.No arrests have been made in connection with the case, McNeil said.

PALMDALE, CA — A 50-year-old man who authorities say had a makeshift bed in his car has been arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap and molest a 15-year-old girl in Palmdale. Tracy Jones, of Apple Valley, has been charged with attempted kidnapping and attempted child molesting, according to sheriff’s officials. An off-duty sheriff’s deputy spotted Jones driving slowly beside the teen as she walked along the 39000 block of Summerwind Drive on the afternoon of Christmas Eve.

A woman accused in the death of a 12-year-old boy who disappeared Christmas Eve and whose charred remains were found in a ditch nearly a week later has admitted she dumped the body, according to authorities. Mona Yvette Nelson, 44, is charged with capital murder in the slaying of Jonathan Paul Foster, who vanished from his northwest Houston home about 2 p.m. Friday. Nelson was arrested Wednesday at her apartment and had been scheduled to appear in a court hearing this morning, but officials said she had a medical issue and was not brought to the courtroom. They didn’t release details of her condition.

A Missouri neighborhood is stunned after police say a man admitted to more than 500 instances of statutory rape and child molestation, Fox2Now.com reports. Corey Brown, 45, of Lake Saint Louis, allegedly confessed to sexually abusing two girls over the course of three years, beginning when the children were 8 and 9 years old. Police say the confession came while Brown was being treated in a hospital this month after attempting suicide, according to the website. Authorities then launched an investigation into the alleged abuse.

REHOBOTH – The local mother accused of beating her 2-year-old son to death in a fit of rage while pregnant with another child has since given birth while held in custody awaiting trial for murder. No trial date has been set yet for Kim Peno, 39, a woman authorities say had a lengthy history of child abuse and neglect when she allegedly fatally beat her son Timothy at her Blanding Road home on the night of March 17. She has pleaded innocent in Fall River Superior Court and her husband, 65-year-old Joseph, was subsequently charged with child endangerment and is awaiting trial in Taunton District Court. He has pleaded innocent.

The mother of a deceased 4-year-old child will remain behind bars after final autopsy reports confirmed Tuesday that the child died from restraint-related asphyxia on Oct. 20, 2011. According to Montgomery Police Department spokesman Ron Cook, 23-year-old Brittany Ellis of 3020 Kelly Circle was arrested and incarcerated in October for child abuse charges for allegedly killing her son Keante Taunton, who was pronounced dead at Baptist Hospital South on Oct. 20.

Thiensville, Wisconsin – Aaron Zenke, an 18-year-old Wisconsin man was jailed after he allegedly demanded that a 13-year-old girl send him nude photos, or he would “come find her.” According to police, an investigation was launched after a 13-year-old girl told detectives that she was chatting with Zenke on a social networking site called iMesh when he ordered her to send him nude photographs of herself – and if she didn’t, he would “come find her.”

(CNN) — Houston, Texas, police were investigating the death of a child whose burned body was found Tuesday morning in a drainage ditch. Police got a call from someone who initially believed the remains to be burned debris, said homicide Lt. Leslie Martinez. The body is about 3 feet tall, she said. The body apparently had been burned elsewhere and authorities were uncertain of the child’s sex. Houston police also are searching for a missing 12-year-old boy. The Amber Alert lists him as being between 4 feet, 8 inches tall and 5 feet tall.

ST. LOUIS, MO —The St. Louis police are investigating a possible case of child abuse in south St. Louis. The victim is a 2 year old. Police were called to the 6900 block of Chippewa around 8 p.m. Sunday night. The child had been severely beaten and had injuries to his head, arms and his legs. He was taken to an area hospital and is listed in critical condition.

BOISE, IDAHO – A 68-year-old passenger on a Southwest flight from Las Vegas was arrested when his plane landed in Boise after police say he punched a teenage passenger. According to reports, the 15-year-old was flying alone and was playing games and listening to music on his iPhone when the announcement was made to turn off all electronic devices. Either not hearing the announcement, or not caring, the teen kept on using his iPhone as the plane began its landing. This really aggravated Russell Miller who feared the electronic device usage was a threat to his safety so he reportedly got the teen’s attention by punching him in the arm hard enough to leave a mark and ultimately garner him one count of misdemeanor battery.
