WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A North Carolina man is again facing child abuse charges after photos of the alleged abuse went viral on Facebook. Kyle Christopher Fox is accused of beating Craig and Leigh Hollars’ 2-year-old daughter in October 2013. However, the charges were dropped earlier this week because witnesses did not show up in court. On Wednesday afternoon, Craig Hollars posted photos showing the alleged abuse on Facebook. His post has been shared over 60,000 times in 24 hours. In the post, Hollars explains he and his wife were devastated when charges were dropped earlier this week.

ZIONSVILLE, Indiana – FBI agents and Indiana State Police raided the home of Subway restaurant spokesman Jared Fogle on Tuesday, removing electronics from the property and searching the house with a police dog, two months after the then-executive director of Fogle’s foundation was arrested on child pornography charges. FBI agent Wendy Osborne said the agency was conducting an investigation in Zionsville, an affluent Indianapolis suburb, but wouldn’t say whether it involved Fogle or describe the nature of the investigation. Subway said in a statement that it is “very concerned” about the raid, which it believes “is related to a prior investigation” of a former employee of the Jared Foundation, an organization founded by Fogle to raise awareness about childhood obesity. Subway did not immediately say whether that employee was former foundation executive director Russell Taylor.

WASHINGTON — Hayleigh Wilson, the 14-year-old girl reported missing from Tennessee last month, was found Tuesday morning in Smyth County, Virginia. She was with 41-year-old Benjamin Shook, the known sex offender police believed she ran away with on June 22. Police said the pair was caught when someone called 911 after spotting the man and the teen entering a home Tuesday morning to take a shower.

Maryland authorities say a 6-year-old girl was placed on life support after being severely injured by her mother’s boyfriend. Hancock police responded to a residence on July 3 in reference to an unconscious child, according to a news release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

On Tuesday, Metro released pictures that feature a 35-year-old councillor Ratan Lal Jat marrying a 6-year-old girl in Rajasthan, West India. The wedding is thought to have taken place on June 23 in a secret village temple ceremony. There were 5 witnesses to the event. American Airlines manager Ray Howland was recently arrested in a child sex sting operation for allegedly arranging to meet up with a mother and her 10-year-old daughter. The meet up was reportedly meant to take place in Pittsburgh. Howland reportedly faced multiple charges, including unlawful contact with a minor and criminal attempt rape of a child. He is expected in court next week, the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

SARASOTA, FLORIDA — A 6-year-old girl is in critical, but stable, condition at All Children’s Hospital after her mother allegedly stabbed her. Ashley Parker, 29, was taken into police custody after officers arrived at 2109 Leon Ave. in Sarasota about 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Police said the child’s grandparents found her lying on a floor in the hallway, wrapped in a pink blanket that covered up stab wounds to her stomach and leg.

AUSTRALIA – More than 70 years after Ron Simpson was raped by a chef and had his back broken with a hockey stick by another man, he still suffers nightmares about the abuse he endured at NSW’s Fairbridge Farm School. The 86-year-old is one of about 150 former residents of the school at Molong to settle a $24 million claim with the foundation that ran the school and the NSW and commonwealth governments on Monday. It is the largest payment for mass child abuse survivors in Australia.

A dad and his two sons were last night charged with triple murder after a fire which killed a mother, her baby and friend. Peter Eyre, 43, and brothers Simon, 24, and Anthon, 21 were due to appear before magistrates this morning. Amy Smith, 17, and her six-month-old daughter Ruby-Grace Gaunt died in Sunday morning’s inferno at her home in Langley Mill, Derbyshire, along with family friend Ed Green, 17.

CHESAPEAKE, Virginia — When a Virginia State Police trooper pulled over Tonya Slaton, 44, of Richmond, on Interstate 64 earlier this month, he found a black trash bag in the trunk that contained human remains, according to an affidavit obtained by WTVR. Friday, Virginia State Police confirmed the remains were that of Slaton’s biological son Quincy Jamar Davis. According to the search warrants, one investigator believed “the victim’s death was likely the result of some homicidal action.”

TEXAS – An El Paso couple arrested in April on suspicion of sexually abusing two foster children might have earned as much as $1.6 million from the state as foster parents over 14 years, documents show. The actual amount is not exact because three child-placing agencies took a share of the money in administrative fees. Sandra Huerta, 55, and Antonio Huerta, 62, had been foster parents to 36 children since they were licensed in 2000, officials said.

A man has escaped jail time after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting his young daughter and niece in a string of offences over a 20 year period. A 67-year-old, whose identity cannot be revealed, has walked free with a community corrections order after unleashing years of torment on young girls. Earlier this year he was found guilty of five counts of committing an indecent act with a child under 16. On Tuesday he was spared a prison sentence as the judge ruled his crimes were ‘at the lower end’ of sexual deviancy offences.
