The incident was reported Wednesday and the man was arrested Thursday. Joshua Jones was charged with first degree rape and first degree unlawful sexual contact.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla — A man faces charges of raping a two-year-old girl last week at SeaWorld Orlando after her mother left him to watch the toddler, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. The crime was discovered when pictures of the rape were found on Michael Grzybowicz’s cell phone, sheriff’s records state. A member of the Cocoa Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit confiscated the phone.

NASHUA – Christian Jackson was killed by “significant blunt force trauma,” and the 3-year-old’s death has been deemed a homicide, the prosecutor said Thursday. Authorities have not yet charged anyone, or identified any suspect. Police are still interviewing witnesses, and the state medical examiner’s office has not yet pinned down the exact time of Christian’s death, or offered an estimate as to when the injury was inflicted, Assistant Attorney General Benjamin Agati said.

Judge Larry Thorne ordered today that a 4-week-old admitted to the hospital with multiple signs of physical abuse be released to a rehabilitative foster home.Medical staff determined that the newborn was a victim of physical child abuse. He suffered a skull fracture caused by compression or crushing, a rib fracture, liver injuries, a broken femur and tibia, broken jaw and bleeding of the brain, according to previous Enterprise reporting.

The US Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration (USDHHS) reports that child abuse has reached epidemic proportions with parents being the primary abusers. “Many of our directors tell us their child abuse reports have risen,” said Crystal Ward Allen, director for Public Children Services Association of Ohio. Parents comprised the largest group of abusers, at 80 percent, with 9 out of 10 abusers being the children’s biological parents.

DENVER — A teenage boy was covered in lighter fluid and burned during a party in southwest Denver on Valentine’s Day and now eight young men have been arrested.Police received a call at about 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 14 of a boy acting erratically and possibly in need of medical attention. He was stumbling near a McDonald’s restaurant. The boy was transported to The Children’s Hospital for treatment of burns to his hands, chest, neck and face.

PENSACOLA, FL – An Escambia County Sheriff’s Deputy is being held without bond for alleged child abuse. According to the arrest report, Mildred Blanche Goodwin and her son were involved in an altercation. She was attempting to discipline her son, and tried to strike him in the leg with her department issued expandable baton. Her son attempted to block the strike and received injuries to his right forearm and wrist.

The video evidence against Gianna Cochran wasn’t always clear, but a Franklin County judge saw and heard enough to convince him that the baby sitter was abusing children in her home. Common Pleas Judge David E. Cain convicted Cochran yesterday of five felony and seven misdemeanor counts of child endangering, based on secretly recorded videos that appear to show her nearly suffocating children to stop them from crying.

Lot and her granddaughter both told police that the man was rude and belligerent and refused to eat his snack in the dining room, despite Lot’s plea.

Southfield, MI — A 9-year-old girl, worried that her mother was driving drunk during a trip to the bank, slipped a teller a note asking for help and refused to get back in the car. Latanya Renee Evans, 49, was arrested about 5:10 p.m. Friday after she left her daughter at the Bank of America in the 26000 block of W. 12 Mile. Evans was taken into custody about a quarter-mile away on Northwestern Highway on suspicion of drunken driving, Southfield Police Lt. Nick Loussia said.
