JACKSON, Tenn. – Jackson police said an 81-year-old man was arrested for raping a 4-year-old girl. Officials said the alleged abuse by Robert Fisher took place in April. Police investigated after receiving a call from the mother of the child on Tuesday. She reported that her daughter had been molested.

Port Clinton–A registered sex offender pleaded guilty Wednesday to rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition for assaulting an 11-year-old girl last year. Port Clinton resident Jeffrey L. Gill, 49, of East Harbor Road, faces a maximum of 20 years in prison when he’s sentenced on June 6.

BRADENTON — A 48-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for wrestling with a child, the Bradenton Police Department reports. Jeffrey Johnson was arrested at about 11:15 p.m. when someone called police claiming to hear an argument going on in the backyard of the residence. Johnson told police he was teaching the male victim wrestling moves so he doesn’t get beaten up at school, a report said. The victim gave a different story.

AVA, Mo.—Deputies say 22-year-old Britni Tyra was arrested Monday April 25, for a child abuse investigation case that occurred on April 20. Prosecutors say Tyra shook her boyfriends 18-month-old child causing severe head trauma. According to court documents a “well being check” on two children living at the Ava home was prompted by a nurse on April 20.

DEXTER, Minn.- Two young boys are in protective custody after police say their parents were chaining them to their beds. 33-year-old Brian Miller and his wife 26-year-old Charity Miller, of Dexter, MN were arrested last week. Both parents are facing multiple charges of false imprisonment, child neglect, and abuse. They were released on bail Monday. Child services first learned about a possible abuse case from the younger of the two boys who is a student at Southland School in Adams, MN.

MIAMI- A South Florida man has been denied bond after he faced a judge Thursday for allegedly killing his girlfriend’s 4-year-old child. Calvin Lewis, 20, faces charges of felony murder and aggravated child abuse. According to police, Lewis confessed to rough housing with the child at a home on April 24. The incident took place at around 10 p.m. at 62nd Street and Northwest Third Avenue. The Miami Police department arrived on scene to find Brianna Johnson unresponsive.

WATTS — A woman allegedly aiming a loaded gun at her daughter and grandchildren was fatally shot by police Wednesday night. Police received reports around 7:15 p.m. of a woman threatening to shoot family members outside a residence on the 10000 block of Anzack Avenue.

Authorities in Homosassa, Florida, have accused a mother and her boyfriend of horrific acts of child abuse against the woman’s 5-year-old son. Crystal Jean Ciampa, 26, along with her boyfriend, Joshua Louis Heater, 26, have been charged on multiple counts of child abuse, child neglect and tampering with a witness, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

An Eden man was charged with child abuse after a 5-month-old infant was admitted to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem with head injuries. Brian Walter Pulliam, 38, of 1206 Second St. was charged Tuesday with intentional child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury. According to a news release from the Eden Police Department, investigators were called to the hospital after receiving a request from the Rockingham Department of Social Services.

New Baltimore, MI— A paramedic broke down in tears Wednesday as she recalled an afternoon last year when she entered a New Haven home and found an unclothed and unconscious 2-year-old girl lying in the middle of the living room floor. “She was unresponsive, not breathing and she didn’t have a pulse,” Richmond-Lenox EMS paramedic Katie Eisen said. “I started CPR on her right away.” Eisen tearfully testified about the chaotic scene during the preliminary examination Wednesday of Renee Marie King in New Baltimore District Court. The 29-year-old is charged with felony murder, first-degree child abuse and first-degree criminal sexual conduct on allegations she sexually assaulted and killed her stepdaughter, Lily Lynette Furneaux-Wolfenbarger.

Actor Nicolas Cage may now face a child-abuse investigation as new details from his April 16 arrest for public drunkenness in New Orleans have emerged from a police department’s report.
