SARASOTA, FL. – A homeless woman has been arrested after kidnapping a child outside of a Sarasota church. According to the Sarasota Police Department, at approximately 2pm Sunday, a 9-year-old male child was kidnapped. The child was in a Church parking lot less than a block from his home when a stranger grabbed him. The child said he was looking for his bicycle when a female grabbed him by the arm and stated “you don’t have a mother, you have a brother waiting for you at the store.”

CHULA VISTA, Calif. — A woman and two young children were found dead inside a townhouse Wednesday by officers investigating the suicide of a man who jumped to his death from a freeway overpass. Authorities say officers were following up on the apparent suicide of a man found in a ravine along state Route 125 in Spring Valley. A CHP officer found the man’s body and his abandoned car.

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. — Shocking allegations of sexual abuse in Moreno Valley where police have arrested a man suspected of repeatedly assaulting a 14-year-old girl. 22-year old Alonso Ramon Pedro was arrested Sunday at his home on suspicion of more than 100 counts of sexual assault on a child.

Billy Bob Thornton’s estranged daughter, Amanda Brumfield, has been found guilty of aggravated manslaughter in the 2008 death of a 1-year-old girl in Orlando, Fla. Prosecutors say the 32-year-old was convicted last Friday. Brumfield was accused of killing her best friend’s daughter while babysitting for an overnight stay in October 2008.

As the P-I reports this 39-year-old charmer was just charged with second-degree assault of a child, after he, his girlfriend and her four-week-old baby showed up at Seattle Children’s Hospital on May 19. Staff at the hospital quickly determined the boy had a broken arm and shoulder. Further tests showed both the boy’s legs had been broken in several places; an older fracture to the month-old child’s left leg had already begun to knit.

A former Walton County Sheriff’s Deputy will be going to prison for abusing his infant daughter last year. Judge Kelvin Wells sentenced Jerid Day to 15 years in prison after April’s conviction of child abuse and child neglect. The courtroom testimony was quite emotional. Day’s uncle took the stand telling the judge that the former Walton County Deputy suffered job-related post-traumatic stress disorder.

Nicholas Williams was arrested last week after police say he spanked his 2-year-old daughter so hard that she died, MyFoxAustin reports. According to the arrest affidavit, police and paramedics responded to a 911 call made by a woman saying that the child was not breathing at a residence in Austin, Texas, on May 23.

MORGAN HILL, CA — An amber alert has been issued for a one month-old girl abducted during a carjacking outside a church. Officials say the infant was abducted from St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church at 17400 Peak Road in Morgan Hill at 1:57 p.m. Tuesday. The girl is identified as Mariana Corona, she is a Hispanic girl with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing white flowery pajamas. There was no description given for the person who took the car. The infant was in a 1991 White Infinity Q45, with California plates, #5XJW448.
