ANCHORAGE, Alaska — An Alaska woman was convicted Tuesday of misdemeanor child abuse after squirting hot sauce into the mouth of her adopted Russian son as punishment in what prosecutors said was a ploy to get on the “Dr. Phil” TV show. Prosecutors also said defendant Jessica Beagley, 36, of Anchorage made the 7-year-old boy stand in a cold shower when he misbehaved. Both actions were recorded on videotape.

Oklahoma City, OK – Crystian Rivera, a 13-year-old Oklahoma boy has been jailed after he allegedly murdered his baby sister because she interrupted a video game he was playing. According to Oklahoma City police, Rivera was playing a video game when his 9-month-old sister fell nearby and began to cry. Rivera allegedly became angry when his sister’s crying distracted him from the game and caused his character to die.

THIBODAUX, La. – Police have arrested a man on charges that he raped a 12-year-old boy inside the restroom of a fast food restaurant Friday night in Thibodaux. The incident occurred at the Burger King located at 206 East 1st Street in Thibodaux.

Father Confessed to Abducting, Drowning His Sons

A Dallas man accused of kidnapping and drowning his two young sons had a history of violence, and child protective services officials had been tracking the family for months, according to records and interviews with case officials Tuesday. Naim Muhammad, 32, is charged with capital murder and is being held on $2 million bond. Police said he kidnapped 3-year-old Elijah, 5-year-old Naim and their mother by threatening her with a brick as they walked to school Monday.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The FBI has filed a criminal complaint alleging that a Traverse City-area man killed his 3-month-old daughter while sexually abusing her. Steven William Deuman is held pending a hearing Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids, records showed. The criminal complaint was recently unsealed upon Deuman’s arrest.

LAWTON, MI — The state has removed three children from a Lawton home after a 13-year-old boy was found locked in his bedroom that had urine and feces in it, according to Van Buren County Circuit Court documents. The petition filed at the court’s family division said the boy was “confined to his room at night by a rope” so he couldn’t open his bedroom door at night. There were no pillows, blankets or heating and cooling vents in the room and the only light source was the window.

SOUTHFIELD, MI – Proof that the grand jury investigation into the Oakland County Child Killer case is heating up. Today Child Killer Task Force detectives asked Action News for copies of old archive footage from the case. These homicides happened 35 years ago… and now Task Force detectives want to look through the old film footage that Channel 7 may have from the days of the original investigation. Film footage like this from the 1970s may hold clues to the killer – or killers – detectives are pursuing in the Oakland County Child Killer case.

Noe Medina, Jr. was found in extremely critical condition after falling from the fourth floor of the parking structure at Children’s Hospital in Orange around 6:20 p.m. Monday, according to Orange Police.

MUKILTEO — A Mukilteo couple is under investigation for allegedly withholding food from a 10-year-old girl described by police as “extremely emaciated.” The girl was admitted to an Everett hospital Monday weighing 51 pounds — about two-thirds the weight of a healthy child her age. Doctors reported that she was suffering from “severe malnutrition.” She also had multiple bruises, abrasions and scars all over her body, according to court papers.

Couple Arrested on Suspicion of Child Abuse

A 4-year-old boy is in the care of Child Protective Services after police arrested his mother and her live-in boyfriend accused of abusing the child to the point his leg was broken. Police arrested Travis Darrah, 26, on suspicion of child abuse and Melissa Chambers, 22, on suspicion of hindering prosecution on Wednesday, ending a month-long investigation into the couple who initially told police that the boy fell off of his bunk bed.

Soccer Coach Charged With Molestation

CHULA VISTA, CA — A South Bay soccer coach accused of molesting a 16- year-old boy over a six-month period must stand trial on eight felony counts, a judge ruled Thursday. Prosecutors also presented evidence alleging a sexual assault against a second boy, but a misdemeanor sexual battery charge involving that minor was dismissed at the conclusion of a daylong preliminary hearing for Luiz Roberto Raymundo, said Deputy District Attorney Trisha Amador.
