Symptoms can include Post traumatic stress disorder, OCD, Eating disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, and the MOST DEVASTATING OF ALL sometimes the victim becomes the abuser.

This Site contains the stories of over 650 courageous survivors. Because stories are submitted at a much faster rate than I, and the kind volunteers, can possibly read them, we are momentarily closed for new submissions. Survivors and Friends is a non-profit organization that was founded by annie, a Survivor of sexual abuse herself. JACKSON, TN – A Tennessee man is facing life in prison after being charged with 107 counts of child rape. Police arrested Roy McCarty, 37, on Wednesday. They say the alleged sexual assaults started when the boy was eight-years-old and happened between 2008 and 2010. The boy’s mother told police about the molestation.

THAILAND – Phayonsak Udom, 58, a former teacher at Ban Nayang School in Sop Prap district, was reportedly a suspect in the rape of a girl and fled the province to avoid a subpoena. A warrant had been issued for his arrest for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 15-year-old female student, police said.

According to his new book, ‘You Are Not Alone: Michael Through A Brother’s Eyes,’ Jermaine Jackson secretly arranged to fly his brother Michael Jackson out of the U.S. and to Bahrain if the gloved one was found guilty of child molestation charges during a 2005 court case. Jermaine feared his brother “wouldn’t survive” jail.

ROY, Utah—A Roy man is facing charges of child abuse homicide after allegedly admitting to suffocating his own stepdaughter. The body of a two-year-old girl named Hailey was discovered by her mother on Friday morning. Police and paramedics responded to a unit at the Brownstone Apartments after receiving word of the unresponsive child. Police say the girl’s stepfather, Robert G. Abbott, initially claimed he didn’t know what happened.

The governing board of the state’s child-welfare agency has refused repeated requests to hold special meetings on the high-profile deaths of children in its care. Steven Dow, of Tulsa, called for the special meetings. He is one of nine commissioners who oversee the state Department of Human Services.

It would be an understatement to say that the impact of child abuse and neglect on the developing brain is dramatic, far reaching and lifelong. Advances in brain science over the past decade can now map brain activity. We can identify which areas of the brain have specific thought processes as well as behavioral and emotional responses. The unseen consequences — especially of severe, repeated and prolonged abuse and neglect — go far beyond the visible scars.

LAKEWOOD – A 2-year-old girl has died after police say they were called to an apartment Wednesday on reports of a child that wasn’t breathing. Lakewood Police say they were called to the apartment in the 700 block of South Vance Street shortly after 5 p.m. Officers say when they arrived, they found 2-year-old Dolci Gryshayeva unresponsive and took her to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

A group of men, who were abused as children whilst in state care in the Great Southern, are demanding government compensation. Dennis John McKenna managed a government-run boarding hostel, and abused six boys between 1977 and 1985. The victims were staying at the hostel while they attended a nearby high school.

Incest is defined as sexual contact between people so closely related that they may not legally marry. In certain contexts the term has been expanded to include sexual contact with caregivers in who an individual depends for day-to-day care (such as a step-parent or a babysitter). Incest generally occurs as child sexual abuse by an older family member to a younger child or teenager. The perpetrator can be anyone in the child’s family: a parent, a sibling, an uncle, a grandfather, just to name a few.

Between midnight and 4 am, four out of every ten children in the world will be abused in some way. The numbers increase at an alarming rate. Why? Because the children aren’t talking. We must end the silence. We must let these children know they are NOT ALONE…
