On Friday Bishop Robert Finn, of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, became the highest ranking member of the Catholic Church to be charged for covering up child abuse. Bishop Finn and the diocese have been accused of taking about six months to tell authorities that they’d found child pornography on a priest’s laptop, during which time he allegedly abused more children. The indictment is a landmark event in the church’s ongoing struggle with allegations of sexual abuse by its members. Yet, during yesterday’s services priests in the diocese met the issue with even more silence, choosing to discuss forgiveness rather than addressing the new developement directly.

Caldwell, Idaho- – Joshua James Stueckle, a 28-year-old ‘Haunted House’ worker was jailed Wednesday after he allegedly had sex with an underage teen. According to the Canyon County Sheriffs Office, Stueckle drove a 16-year-old girl to Caldwell Rotary Ponds Tuesday and had sex with her. Compounding the matter, Stueckly is facing charges in a second case that involves sexual battery of a 16-year-old. He is also a registered sex offender from Oregon.

San Diego, CA– Anna Riggs, a 26-year-old Indiana woman, was jailed after she allegedly sold her 4-month-old child to drug dealers in exchange for drugs and money. According to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office, Riggs and her husband, Brandon Riggs, reportedly sold their child to Stephen and Melissa Lynch, and Indiana couple who is also their meth dealer.

An accused child molester killed himself outside a Vermont state police barracks Sunday, after troopers were warned the suicidal man was en route to their headquarters. Michael Weisler, 43 of Waterville, pulled into the parking lot of the Vermont State Police dispatch center in Williston on Sunday, stepped outside the vehicle and shot himself.

American Association for Lost Children, Inc. HARTFORD, ILL—The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has charged 24-year-old Matthew Fields, of Hartford, Illinois with Aggravated Battery of a Child. Authorities said the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services reported that a mother of a nine week old child took the child to an Alton area hospital on October 10 around 7 p.m., due to the child not acting normal.

IRMO– Two suspects officials say were involved in the abuse of a 2-month-old girl have been arrested in Lexington County.The sheriff’s department says 18-year-old Tameeka Wallace and 21-year-old Benson Essien turned themselves in Friday morning.Investigators say the pair is charged with unlawful conduct towards a child by legal custodian.

PHOENIX –A 2-year-old El Mirage boy is fighting for his life while the live-in boyfriend of his mother was arrested on suspicion of child abuse. Gregory Kyle Amador, 20, was booked into jail Thursday on two counts of suspected child abuse after the boy was taken to Boswell Hospital and then Phoenix Children’s Hospital with severe injuries, according to Maricopa County Superior Court records.

An investigation is to be launched today to pin down the full extent of sexual exploitation, predatory grooming and abuse of children by gangs. Thousands of children are feared to be caught up in the abuse with figures suggesting 10,000 may be affected in England, but some research points to the problem being far worse.

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Three people are behind bars tonight facing a laundry list of charges revolving around the sexual abuse of two children, both under the age of 10. 44-year-old Leroy Jackson, his sister 40-year-old Vanessa Jackson-Wagner and Leroy’s 21-year-old son Emmanual Jackson have been charged with first degree sex offense of a child, along with child abuse.
