As allegations of child sex abuse continue to build against coaches at Penn State and Syracuse universities, parents are asking themselves: Who can you trust? Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky — who started the Second Mile, a charity for troubled children — faces multiple criminal charges of child sex abuse. Child molestation allegations were made against former Syracuse assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine, who was involved with the Boys Club and Make-a-Wish Foundation.

ONTARIO, Calif. — A man is accused of possessing what prosecutors called one of the largest child pornography collections ever recovered. Michael Peterson, a 58-year-old pipefitter, was taken into custody at his home in Ontario on charges of possessing, receiving and distributing child pornography.

One week after a four-month-old baby was rushed to hospital – but died hours later, her biological father has been charged with the infant’s death. Police have said they believe four-month-old Zaria McCall was inside her family home in Red Deer when she was injured, and one of her parents took her to Red Deer Regional Hospital.

A father has been accused of killing and chopping up a man he suspected of molesting his daughter. George Loader is alleged to have scattered the dismembered body parts in the desert after first trying to dispose of them by burning them. Investigators found the victim’s head and limbs in separate bags which had dumped on a dirt road in rural Kingman in Arizona.

A new statistical analysis report shows that despite a child-homicide rate in the United States which surpasses that of most other Western nations, firearms are near the bottom of the list of causes for the alarming statistics. According to a report drafted by Iain Murray, a senior research analyst at the Statistical Assessment Service, a Washington-based non-profit, non-partisan think tank, “in the rush to reduce America’s high juvenile homicide rates into a gun-control debate, we’re missing the chilling bigger picture of the real and deadly risks our children face, and what it says about our society.”

All families deal with stress at one time or another. But during the holiday season, stress is more common and can be much more difficult to handle. INDIANA—- A youth wrestling coach from Frankston has admitted to at least ten sexual encounters with a 13-year-old boy during the past 3 – 4 months. Clinton Couch, 28, has been charged with five counts of child molestation and ten counts of child pornography after his victim came forwards. The wannabe coach had taken naked photos of the boy with his cell phone and forced him to engage in oral sex sessions.

Presley Crowe, one of Shane Crowe‘s two daughters that have documented, alleged and reported detailed sexual abuse against their father, turned up the heat in her fight to expose the California courts for granting full custody of her little sister Skylar to him. Presley and Skylar’s stories have been the subject of much media attention of late, including a brief segment on the Dr. Phil show and the Web site, SaveOurSkye.org.

Reno, Nevada– Tkeyah Jordan, 21, and her live-in boyfriend Trevor Swanson, 27, were jailed last week after Jordan’s 2-year-old daughter arrived at the hospital with child-abuse related injuries. A charge of murder was added Tuesday after the little girl, identified as Nalaya Jordan, passed away from her injuries on Monday. According to Reno Police, an investigation was launched last week when Jordan’s 2-year-old daughter, Nalaya, arrived at the hospital in full cardiac arrest.

A pediatrician who had recently moved to Columbus to take a new job was arrested Thursday as part of an interstate child pornography investigation, the FBI said. Yancy Craft, also known as Travis Mobley, was taken into custody by FBI agents in Columbus after coming to the attention of undercover officers on the Internet, according to Brian D. Lamkin, FBI special agent in charge of the Atlanta Field Office.

NEW YORK –In what reads like an extremely disturbing case, a Manhattan woman has been charged with inducing her own abortion then dumping the fetus in a trash bin. According to authorities, 20-year-old Yaribely Almonte apparently aborted the female fetus, wrapped it in plastic then trashed in a bin outside her home on W. 191st Street in Washington Heights.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A 47-year-old talent agent for children was charged Thursday with eight felony counts of child molestation. Martin Weiss, 47, is charged with three counts of sodomy of a person under 16; two counts each of lewd act upon a child and continuous sexual abuse; and one count of forcible lewd act upon a child.
