The famed comedian, 78, once among America’s biggest television stars, filed suit in a court in Springfield, Massachusetts, his attorney Monique Pressley said in a statement. Cosby’s suit, accusing the women of defamation and “intentional infliction of emotional distress,” staunchly rejects the sex assault allegations that have derailed his career and sullied his once sterling reputation.

A man from Indiana described by authorities as having no apparent ties to the town or family has been charged with murder.

NEW YORK — A suspect was arrested and charged late Friday in the rape of a 7-year-old girl in the Bronx. Virgilio Ocampo, 33, stood accused of raping the girl in the Soundview section of the Bronx, police said. Police put out a photo and a call for information about Ocampo’s whereabouts last week.

A 22-year-old Oregon woman has been found guilty of repeatedly raping and sexually abusing a seven-year-old boy. Melissa Chacon, of Cornelius, was convicted on Friday of three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of first-degree rape. The 22-year-old defendant was found not guilty of using a child in a display of sexual conduct and one count of first-degree sexual abuse.

A leading independent Catholic school was plunged into a new scandal yesterday after its deputy head teacher was accused of possessing indecent images of children. Peter Allott, 36, from St Benedict’s School, Ealing, was arrested by officers from a specialist child abuse team at the National Crime Agency (NCA). He was charged with possessing almost 400 illegal images and videos, the majority of which were classified as the most depraved available. The material was allegedly recovered from his iPhone and a hard drive kept in his office at the prestigious school.

A prominent Aboriginal activist has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a teenage girl over a five year period. The former chairman of the Illawarra Local Aboriginal Land Council, Roy ‘Dootch’ Kennedy, pleaded guilty to four charges of aggravated sexual assault in Sydney’s Campbelltown District Court on Monday. Mr Kennedy kept his relationship with the girl – who had two children as a result of the abuse – under wraps until he was charged with 15 child sex offences in February last year.

A ‘depraved’ pediatric nurse and foster carer who filmed himself sexually molesting two babies, has been jailed for 80 years. Michael William Lutts, 52, began the sickening abuse of a two-month-old boy from the first day he came under his care. Graphic court documents told how Lutts had groped the boy’s genitals while masturbating, videoing the whole event. He also abused an 11 month-old girl in his care. U.S. District Judge John Houston said the horrific crimes were ‘worse than a mass murderer shooting 20 people’ and the pedophile had victimized ‘the most fragile’ people in society as he sentenced him to 80 years in jail

SCHENECTADY, New York —A 5-year-old New York girl who lost her family in a fire that was intentionally set has one wish this holiday season: Christmas cards from around the world. In 2013, Safyre Terry’s father and three younger siblings died in a fire caused by arson. Safyre was found in the debris next to her father, who used his body to shield her from the flames. Safyre suffered severe burns, and in the months following the fatal blaze she lost her right hand and left foot. Dodler took to Facebook to post a photo of Safyre standing next to the tree in the hopes of getting enough cards to fill the display.

Emma Watson Nowling took a quick break from soccer practice Thursday night to greet a man walking by the sidelines. “Little Emma went up and gave the guy a hug,” Emma’s soccer coach, Mario Scicluna, said. Later that night, that man, Timothy Nelson Obeshaw, shot 7-year-old Emma and her mother, 37-year-old Sharon Elizabeth Watson, in the parking lot of the Taylor Sportsplex before turning his 9mm pistol on himself, according to Taylor police. Authorities described Obeshaw as a family friend.

TN – A five-year-old Tennessee girl called 911 after her drunk mother drove their car into a pond while her three children were inside, police said. Officers found Shernette Fowler, 31, on Thursday under a tree on a farm in Donelson with her three children ages two, five and eight who were ‘wet, cold and crying,’ according to the affidavit. Police, who also found Fowler’s car partially submerged in the pond, said the mom smelled of alcohol, was slurring her speech and had bloodshot eyes.

ALBANY, N.Y. –A 20-year-old upstate New York woman has admitted strangling her cousin, 5, and then discarding his body along a road before calling in a false report that two masked intruders took him from their home, reports CBS New York. Tiffany Van Alstyne pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder for the killing of Kenneth White in the rural Albany County town of Berne. Police say her bogus 911 call Dec. 18, 2014, launched a search for the boy, who had been in her parents’ care.

A thug who carried out a ‘shocking campaign of violence’ which left his girlfriend’s six-month-old son with 32 broken bones has been jailed for 19 years. James Laidlaw, 22, had been in a relationship with Tiffany Hilton, 27, since January last year when he attacked the baby boy between February and May. A court heard the baby, who can’t be named for legal reasons, was taken to a walk-in medical centre by Hilton with suspected bronchiolitis on May 17 last year.

LOUISIANA – Two young boys and their parents have been found dead in a possible murder-suicide at their home. Kelli Mata, 40, and her husband David, 46, were found dead in their living room in Marrero, Louisiana, on Sunday morning by her 18-year-old daughter who was returning home from a hunting trip. She then discovered the bodies of two-year-old Liam Mata and brother four-year-old Caden Mata in separate bedrooms. The boys had been stabbed.
