Nevada mom, Danielle Yvonne Slaughter, stabbed and killed her daughter, Kayla Franks, 6, with scissors, after taking a weight loss product , not sleeping for days, and feeling an evil presence in her home. According to AJC, police found the mother running naked through the streets barefoot and with blood on her hands. Apparently she told police the blood came from the “Lamb of God.”

A young couple’s troubled marriage came to a bloody, violent end Tuesday with their three young sons as witnesses. Jedidiah and Alyshia Alexander died of gunshot wounds in what appeared to be a murder-suicide as they sat in a car outside his mother’s house in the 2600 block of Cypress Avenue, Kansas City police said Wednesday. The couple’s sons — aged 1, 2 and 3 — were in the car’s back seat. The boys were not injured physically and are being cared for by relatives, police said.

A mother is in prison after a horrible scene in the middle of the road early Tuesday morning. The 39-year-old woman was arrested, and her 18-month-old child placed in foster care, after she dragged the dirty, nearly naked infant down an Oakland County road at 7a.m. Tuesday morning.

SPERRY – Investigators used the word “torture” to describe the treatment a Sperry couple meted out to their four adopted children in a child-abuse case that has been filed in Osage County.Lora Lee Thomas, 47, and Aubrey Stuart Thomas, 58, were charged earlier this month after Osage County sheriff’s investigator Justin Kling uncovered stories of abuse ranging from the children’s being forced to throw up and then eat their own vomit, to being beaten with a large paddle called “Mr. Awesome” and then made to soak in a tub loaded with ice cubes to reduce swelling from the assaults, to being forced to participate in sexual acts, according to an affidavit filed in Osage County District Court.

DETROIT – D’Andre Lane, the father of a two-year-old Detroit girl who has been missing since early December, has been charged with first-degree murder and child abuse. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy made the announcement Wednesday afternoon. Bianca Jones was reported missing by Lane on December 2.

A couple who sued a hospital for not telling them their unborn child has Down’s syndrome has been awarded a $2.9million payout. Ariel and Deborah Levy, who say they would have had an abortion if they had known the child would be disabled, claimed they needed the money to pay for their daughter Kalanit’s lifelong care. And a jury agreed, deciding on Friday that Oregon’s Legacy Health hospital had been negligent in failing to diagnose the condition in a pre-natal scan. The hospital is considering appealing the verdict, but the Levys’ lawyer urged them to ‘let this case finally come to an end’.

Social services and other agencies ‘poorly managed’ the care of a 10-year-old boy who hanged himself in his bedroom, a report has concluded. Harry Hucknall, a cousin of Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall, was ‘a sad, lonely and extremely anxious child’ but there was no evidence his situation was ‘demonstrably improved’ by the authorities. The youngster was discovered in his locked room at his home in Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria on September 19 2010.

A 27-year-old Carpentersville man has been accused of nearly killing a woman by beating her with a hammer, of sexually assaulting her 8-year-old daughter and of stabbing the woman’s dog. Thursday morning, a judge set bail at $3 million for Daniel J. Happ of the 1600 block of Seminole Drive. That means he’ll need to post $300,000 in cash before he can leave the Kane County jail.

Hawaii Mystery: Six Fingers Belonging to a Toddler Found in Trash Bin

Police in Honolulu are asking for the public’s help in finding the answers to a horrible mystery: How did the fingers of a child end up in a trash bin at a housing complex? The fingers were found a month ago, according to a Honolulu Police Department news release. “Laboratory testing has determined that the fingers are those of a child,” police said in Monday’s release. The fingers are those of a girl, 2½ to 4 years old, CNN affiliate KHON-TV reported, citing police sources. Six fingers were recovered, according to the report.

LA HABRA, CA — A judge has ruled that a woman accused of throwing her 7-month-old son from a parking structure is mentally competent to stand trial. Sonia Hermosillo, 31, of La Habra is charged with murder in the death of Noe Medina Jr. Baby Noe was critically injured after falling from the fourth floor of the parking structure at Children’s Hospital in Orange on August 22.

HEMET, CA — Police in Hemet are investigating claims that a female high school teacher had sex with a male student on campus. 31-year-old Janel Ramirez, an English teacher at Hemet High School, was arrested on March 1. According to a search warrant, a 17-year-old boy claims Ramirez seduced him and then had sex with him in her locked classroom.

RUNNING SPRINGS, CA — FBI agents arrested a San Bernardino middle school teacher Tuesday morning, claiming he exchanged sexually-explicit images with a 13-year-old New Jersey girl. Agents arrested Eugene Ballantyne, 29, at his Running Springs home without incident. Federal prosecutors filed a criminal complaint Friday in United States district Court, charging Ballantyne with receipt and distribution of child pornography.

LA MIRADA, CA — Sheriff’s deputies arrested a substitute teacher Monday at Los Coyotes Middle School in La Mirada on suspicion of molesting a female student in a classroom. The girl’s mother reported that her daughter said the teacher, Ted Nishihara, had touched her in a sexual manner during class, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said. The girl is a preteen, according to authorities.
