In a controversial decision that is already sparking debate around the country, the New York Court of Appeals ruled on Tuesday that viewing child pornography online is not a crime. “The purposeful viewing of child pornography on the internet is now legal in New York,” Senior Judge Carmen Beauchamp Ciparick wrote in a majority decision for the court.

FRIDLEY, Minn. — A woman and her husband are facing jail time after allegedly shaving her 12-year-old daughter’s head and forcing the girl to wear a diaper for getting bad grades. Police were called to the family home by neighbors who reported the girl was being forced to run up and down the street.

MILWAUKEE, WI- A Wisconsin father pleaded not guilty to child abuse on Tuesday after admitting he severely injured his triplet daughters. Nick Bohr said he apparently became frustrated when changing the babies’ diapers. Milwaukee police say that three babies, two months old, were the object of abuse at the hands of their father Steven Sommer, 38. According to the criminal complaint after the alleged abuse was discovered, Sommer told detectives that he possibly twisted the triplets’ legs out of frustration while changing their diapers.

A couple from Seabrook, Texas are accused of beating their 11-year-old son with a leather belt and applying salt, vinegar and alcohol to his wounds. According to the criminal complaint against the pair, the boy had to be hospitalised after officers found him curled on a sofa in the foetal position, with ‘bandages applied to his waist, buttocks and rear thigh area with bodily fluids seeping through them.’

A mother who abused her two children and kept them locked in bedrooms that were so cold her son caught frostbite was jailed for 18 months yesterday. St. Louis, MO – Dana Kintz, 28, and Shawn Ingram, 37, were jailed after allegedly having sex with a dog at their St. Louis residence. According to police, officers were dispatched to the couple’s home after Kintz called 911 to report that she had been assaulted by Ingram.
