Eighteen victims of child pornography were rescued during a nationwide sweep by federal law enforcement agencies, U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement announced Friday. The sweep, dubbed Operation Orion, resulted in the arrests of 190 individuals, most of which were in the U.S. but included arrests in Argentina, the Philippines, Spain and the United Kingdom, ICE said in a press release. Felicia and Cody Beemer, from Trumbull County, Ohio, originally pleaded not guilty to the charges. But yesterday, Cody, 23, changed his plea to guilty on charges of rape, gross sexual imposition and four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor. It also emerged that he previously raped his 18-month-old nephew while they were babysitting him, which was also taped on the phone. He also pleaded guilty to that charge.

Katherine Amanda Mattern, 23, was charged with domestic violence after starving her 7-week-old son nearly to death, and neglecting her 2-year-old daughter in Burien, Washington. Both children were underfed, but Mattern’s son was near death at only eight pounds when he was brought to the hospital.

Mississippi executed a man on Tuesday for the 1990 murders of four of his young nieces and nephews, with the state’s governor rejecting pleas for a reprieve from the mothers of the children he killed. The identities of eight alleged victims of child abuse at the hands of former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky will be made public during the trial that begins this month, a judge ruled on Monday. Four of the alleged victims had petitioned Judge John Cleland to keep their identities anonymous by allowing them to use pseudonyms. All of the victims have been previously denoted only by number, such as “Victim 1” and “Victim 2,” during the investigation and pre-trial hearings.

OXNARD, CA — A man accused of sexually assaulting a child inside a Walmart store in Oxnard is suspected in as many as 20 similar attacks. Police were called to the Walmart Supercenter Store at 2001 N. Rose Avenue in Oxnard last month. A child told officers that he had been in the electronics area of the store when Gonzalez approached him and sexually assaulted him.

Tragedy struck one family after a mother went insane and violent. Aaliyah Johnson, 14, and her father Reuben Johnson, 56, were found shot to death in their San Carlos home, investigators claim the mother, Regina Johnson, 55, stayed with the corpses for days before mentioning the death to a relative.

Pennsylvania — A prosecutor said he may pursue the death penalty against a western Pennsylvania man jailed on charges he killed his two young daughters and his estranged wife at separate residences which were also set on fire. Indiana County District Attorney Patrick Dougherty announced his intentions at a Monday news conference that detailed the killings Friday about 45 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
