The Department of Public Safety has issued an Amber Alert for two-year-old Leah Marie Aguirre. She was last seen in Crosbyton on January 3rd around noon. Leah is Hispanic, with brown hair and brown eyes. She’s 2’5″ and weighs approximately 30 pounds. She may be with a suspect identified as “Miguel”, with brown eyes and brown hair. He may be driving a Ford Focus.

BRADLEY COUNTY, TN. – A Bradley County father is behind bars, charged with aggravated child abuse. Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Gault says 22-year-old Ricky Dean Smith was arrested after his five-week-old son was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

LANSING, MI — A 37-year-old Lansing man was charged Monday for allegedly abusing his infant daughter to the point that she died from internal injuries. Appearing via closed-circuit TV, John Sanders was arraigned before Lansing District Judge Louise Alderson on charges of open murder and 1st-degree child abuse. The charges serve as Sanders’ fourth-offense habitual offender notice, which could amplify a potential sentence.

Stuart Hall appeared before magistrates yesterday to deny allegations of sexually abusing young girls. The veteran broadcaster looked drawn and grey – a shadow of his normal ebullient self – as he entered court to face three counts of indecent assault. Wearing a dark suit and striped tie, the 82-year-old former It’s A Knockout host and BBC Radio 5 Live commentator said he was not guilty of all charges relating to three girls, aged between nine and 17.

A woman who beat her son to death for failing to learn parts of the Koran by heart and burned his body to destroy the evidence has been jailed for life today. Sara Ege, 33, dressed in brown, with a matching headscarf, collapsed as the sentence was delivered at Cardiff Crown Court. She had to be helped from the dock as she was told she would serve a minimum of 17 years. She had been praised as a ‘brilliant mother’ to seven-year-old Yaseen but was convicted of his murder by a jury at the same court last month.

Farwell, MI – William Nokes, a 45-year-old Michigan man, was jailed Christmas day after he allegedly had sex with his adult biological daughter on at least three occasions. According to Michigan State Police, an investigation was launched last September when Nokes’ daughter filed a complaint alleging that she and her father had engaged in sexual intercourse while she was visiting him in Farwell over the 4th of July Holiday.

APPLE VALLEY, CA — A woman has been arrested in the death of a toddler who police say was made to ingest chili powder as a punishment. Amanda Sorensen, 21, of Apple Valley, was detained early Monday morning on suspicion of child abuse resulting in death. San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 20000 block of Cayuga Road at 4:16 p.m. Sunday for a child suffering from a seizure after ingesting chili powder.

A mother of two turned to desperate measures to protect her children. A 37-year-old mother from Loganville, GA, sprung into action after she saw Paul Slater, 32, attempting to enter her house with a crowbar. According to WSBTV, the mother, whose name was not released, grabbed her .38 revolver and took her 9-year-old twins to a crawl space in the attic. When Slater found the woman and the twins, she fired off six shots, hitting him in the face and neck five times.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — Police have released a sketch and surveillance video in the stabbings of two teenagers inside the South Bay Galleria. The attacks happened near the mall’s AMC movie theaters on December 29 just before 7:30 p.m. Police describe the suspect as a black male between 40 and 50 years old. A 20-year-old Florida woman is in a critical condition in hospital after turning a gun on herself moments after shooting dead her six-month-old baby. Melanie Reyes, of Ocola, is thought to have told a relative she was going to attempt the murder-suicide on Facebook, according to The Orlando Sentinel. But when they alerted local police it was already too late. Officers found Reyes in her parents home on Friday morning in a critical condition from gunshot wounds alongside the body of her six-month-old son, Jonah Mendoza.

Megan Denman, 30, of Hoover, CA, was sentenced to six months in jail and three years probation after she pleaded guilty to three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. According to the Fresno Bee, Denman had been a teacher at Hoover High School when she engaged in a sexual relationship with a teenage boy just 16-years of age.

WASHINGTON – More than 200 adults have been arrested in an international investigation of child pornography, Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Thursday. The agency’s director, John Morton, said 123 child victims were identified during the five-week investigation, which ended in early December. ICE and local authorities found 110 victims in 19 U.S. states, while the others were living in six countries elsewhere.
