A man who beat his pregnant former fiancee to death causing the death of their unborn baby has been jailed for at least 27 years. Tony McLernon, 24, of North Grove, Harlow, Essex, was found guilty of murder and child destruction following a trial lasting just over two weeks at Chelmsford crown court. The trial heard he lured Eystna Blunnie, 20, to her death in July last year after telling friends she was trying to ruin his new relationship. When they met in Howard Way, near her home in Harlow, he jumped on her, kicked her and left her to die in a pool of blood. Blunnie was due to give birth to a girl within days.

A Florida mother has been charged with aggravated child abuse in a box cutter attack targeting two teenagers who were fighting with her sons Monday. Police say Nora Silva, 33, lunged at the victims wielding the small knife after witnessing them allegedly bullying her 14-year-old son and his 17-year-old brother. Surveillance footage from a nearby house shows a group of about 15 boys surrounding one of Silva’s children and pushing him to the ground after he and his brother got off the school bus in Rosemont at around 3.15pm.

Two members of staff at a private nursery have been sacked for looking at a child porn film while at work. The nursery, in Finsbury, North London, was closed down for two days after the shock discovery so an investigation could be carried out. It has now been allowed to reopen after education watchdog Ofsted temporarily suspended the nursery’s registration.

CARY, N.C. — Cary police have charged a man with several sex crimes, including two counts of first-degree rape involving a child. Francisco Vasquez Garcia, 44, of 202 Hickory St., was arrested Tuesday night on the rape charges, as well as two counts of indecent liberties with a child and four counts of statutory rape.

An Okmulgee man who had been sought by Tulsa police for failing to appear in court on a child abuse charge was arrested Tuesday. Timothy Michael Wayne Gee, 23, was booked into the Tulsa Jail just before 5 p.m. on a child abuse complaint, jail records show. Gee, who was charged in Tulsa County District Court in June, is accused of causing multiple bruises to his 3-year-old son between April 15 and April 22, court documents indicate.

A Russian motorist has been branded ‘the world’s worst father’ after he forced his eight-year-old daughter to drive his car at more than 60mph on an icy road. Dmitry Mihulchik, 28, filmed his daughter Karina taking the family Audi for a spin and uploaded the shocking footage online. He urged the schoolgirl to keep speeding up, even though the car appeared to be drifted into the middle of the road.

Two men have been jailed for a total of 15 years after plying a 14-year-old girl with alcohol and drugs in return for sex. Raja Khan, 23, raped the victim while Adeeb Sultan, 27, abused her and passed her to another man who sexually assaulted her during a five day ordeal in Birmingham. On one occasion the men tried to force the girl to perform a sex act on a taxi driver in a bid to get a lower fare.

Thousands of children are committing acts of sexual abuse against other young people every year, the NSPCC has warned. The charity found there were more than 5,000 cases of abuse by under 18s reported to the police in the last three years. In some instances acts of sexual abuse were committed by children as young as five or six. The NSPCC have blamed the number on the rise of hardcore porn that is readily available online. This comes after a 15-year-old boy was convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl after watching sadistic porn last week.

A veteran New York police detective was suspended yesterday for allegedly punching his three-year-old son in the face. Jason Sharp, 37, a decorated officer in the in the NYPD’s Brooklyn gang unit, reportedly punched his toddler after an inebriated fight with his 38-year-old wife Michelle early Saturday morning at their home in Bellmore, Long Island, court records state.

A science teacher who had an affair with a 15-year-old pupil has been jailed for 18 months. Michael Pooley, 35, dated the teenager for four months, taking her on day trips and to a hotel, until her parents found out what was going on. Judge Alan Goldsack QC said he hoped Pooley’s sentence acted as a warning to any others in his profession ‘thinking of behaving in this way’. He who told him: ‘Parents are entitled to expect when their children leave home to go to school that they are going to be safe and teachers will protect rather than abuse them.’
