Maine — A 20-year-old Orono man was charged Tuesday with murder in connection with the death of Nichole Cable, a 15-year-old girl from Glenburn. Police discovered a body they believe is Cable’s on Monday night in a wooded area of Old Town. Kyle J. Dube was charged with intentional and knowing murder, police announced during a press conference at the former Superior Court building. Dube’s arrest came nine days after Cable was last seen alive on Mother’s Day evening. Hundreds of volunteers and law enforcement personnel had spent many of those days searching for the missing girl, combing the woods and fields for miles around Cable’s home.

The bruises to a 2-year-old boy who investigators say was beaten extend from his “head to his knees,” and it’s some of the worst injuries one Washington County Sheriff’s official said he’s ever seen. The boy’s mother, Amanda Percell, 22, and a man investigators said is her boyfriend, Andres Lorenze Allen, 29, 533 Browning Road, Telford, are both charged with aggravated child abuse and child neglect or endangerment.

HAUGHTON, LA – Authorities arrested three Ark-La-Tex daycare workers, accused of child abuse involving at least eight children, ranging in age from 1 to 4, in alleged incidents over the past two weeks. Investigators say they received a tip this week about the alleged abuse happening at the TLC Child Care and Learning Center, located in the 4600 block of Highway 80 East in Haughton, Louisiana. On Wednesday (5/15/13), the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested 23 year old Tronica Peterson of Haughton and 25 year old Antionikia Moncrief of Minden. Each faces two counts of simple battery and cruelty to a juvenile. And, 31 year old Fanisty Kennon of Haughton faces six counts of simple battery. Authorities say Peterson videotaped several of the incidents.

ROSWELL, N.M – Police are looking for a man who is wanted on numerous child abuse charges. Taylor Adams, 20, is wanted in Roswell for 15 counts of sexual assault on a child and nine counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. JACKSON, MI – Bella and Corey Austin were sitting in dirty, cold water and Daniel Ronquillo said he started to put new water in the tub. He said he turned on the hot and cold water and left the bathroom, only returning when he said he heard 2-year-old “C.J.” screaming. “I couldn’t believe what I was looking at,” he testified Wednesday, May 15. Their skin, floating in the tub, looked like wet toilet paper.

A Missouri woman believed she had found a blanket filled with puppies under a tree — but it was really a newborn boy. Kaitlin Norton, a 20-year old Ellisville, Missouri woman, gave birth to a baby boy in her boyfriend’s basement laundry room, then abandoned him under a pine tree wrapped in a blanket. Norton had concealed the pregnancy from everyone and her boyfriend, who was away at school, was unaware that Norton was pregnant.

ORLANDO, FL — A central Florida man was sentenced Tuesday to the statutory maximum of 20 years in federal prison for receipt of child pornography and 25 years of supervised release. This sentence resulted from an investigation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). According to court documents, Jose Manuel Rivera Jr., 35, of Melbourne, downloaded and collected more than a dozen movies depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of prepubescent children, some as young as three years old. Rivera also admitted to molesting a toddler on two separate occasions when the child had previously lived in his family’s home.

An 11-year-old girl found wandering alone and disoriented in China was the victim of horrifying abuse at the hands of her father, it has emerged. The young girl’s mouth had been stitched up with fishing cord and her head submerged in boiling water, her skin had been pierced with sewing needles, and she had been hung upside down and beaten, according to reports. The girl, named as Xiao Li, who is now recovering in hospital, has scars all over her body and chunks of hair are missing from her scalded scalp.

His full name, Gaithersburg middle school and favorite Montgomery County hangouts were on public display before his parents put a stop to it. A mother whose 4-year-old was being abducted chased the suspect down and crashed her vehicle into his car, triggering a manhunt, Albuquerque police said Thursday. The young girl was playing in her yard at an apartment complex in Albuquerque’s North Valley when a group of teenagers saw the kidnapping and ran to alert the girl’s mother.

Two mothers have been charged with cruelty after leaving their children at a beach bar to go on a Mother’s Day booze cruise, police said. Billie Jean Williams, 27, and 28-year-old Mary Joyce Daffron were arrested after their children, aged eight and six respectively, went up to staff at Gator Joe’s Bar and Grill in Ocklawaha, Florida and said that their mothers had gone. The mothers allegedly left their children in the care of a man they had just met while they went on a booze cruise on Lake Weir on Sunday.
