The FBI is looking for two unidentified women who may have information in an ongoing child sexual abuse case in Southern California. The women appeared in digital images but were not seen “actively engaged” in sexually abusing the child, the FBI said. The pair, dubbed by the FBI as Jane Doe 25 and Jane 26, may be able to help investigators determine the identity of the victim, federal authorities said.

A young father in Washington state is accused of putting his newborn baby in the freezer to make her stop crying. Tyler Deutsch, 25, was arrested on attempted murder charges and was expected in court Tuesday. Pierce County sheriff’s deputies believe the 6-week-old baby was in the freezer for about an hour, Seattle TV station KING reported.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott’s Cyber Crimes Unit officers observed National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April following a successful year that landed 36 suspected online sex predators and child pornographers in jail. The Cyber Crimes Unit’s arrest total included 15 individuals who were charged with online solicitation of a minor for placing or responding to online advertisements seeking sexual encounters with children.

BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -A Broken Arrow woman has been arrested on a felony warrant for child abuse by Munchausen by proxy syndrome. Victoria Lynn Lee, 37, was booked into the Tulsa County jail on Saturday afternoon and is being held in lieu of $35,000 bond. Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a form of child abuse in which a primary caregiver exaggerates or fabricates of illnesses or symptoms of a child to medical professionals.

LONDON – Police have launched investigations into allegations of child abuse at a former Catholic boarding school in the Highlands. It is alleged that monks running the Abbey School at Fort Augustus beat pupils and sexually assaulted them. The school was part of a Benedictine Abbey on the shores of Loch Ness and closed in 1993. With dwindling numbers of monks, the abbey itself closed in 1998 and was sold off as a holiday home development.

The little boy didn’t look good: gaunt features, discolored bruises on his face. He hadn’t been to preschool for many days and was already “delayed” in his learning. His stepmom and dad, who had been reported to the Missouri child welfare hotline for possible abuse and neglect, were in charge of his care. These factors, considered alone, might have led the Children’s Division investigator to recommend that 4-year-old Lucas Barnes Webb be removed from the home and placed in state custody. But since a change in state law in 2004, the investigator had factors to consider on the other side as well: Although Lucas had recently told an adult that his stepmom kicked him in the stomach, he didn’t tell the investigator he was being abused. He and his brother often played rough; the bruises could be a result of that. Police weren’t going to pursue charges. And the house had plenty of food.

A pedophile attacked a sleeping five year-old girl in the same month his sex offender treatment was delayed because staff were off sick, it emerged today. Daniel Veness, 23, had been ordered to carry out the treatment after being convicted of possessing over 600 child abuse images on his computer. However, two years into his three-year community order he had still not joined the programmer. It has now emerged that the urgent treatment was delayed for six months because staff were on sick leave.

A predatory Portuguese child rapist has gone on the run after he was granted bail and allowed to keep his passport while awaiting trial. Antonio Pedro De Alves attacked a 12-year-old girl in a supermarket car park after grooming her for six months on the internet while posing as a 15-year-old boy. De Alves, 41, skipped bail before he was due to stand trial in Stafford last week.

BATES CITY, MO–The Lafayette County Prosecutor has charged the father of a 10-week-old baby with her violent death. Alex Anthony Gilbert, 24, of Independence, was charged with second-degree murder. His daughter died four days after she was rushed to the hospital. An autopsy revealed the baby had brain damage from a skull fracture. In addition, the child had broken bones and contusions, including to her lung. She had fresh and old injuries.

A man is still facing trail for a horrible crime. Dr. Ali Salim, originally from Pakistan but working as a doctor in Ohio, has been arrested for kidnapping, raping and murdering 23-year-old Deanna Ballman, who was nine months pregnant with her third child, after she answered one of his numerous Craigslist ads. After a six-month investigation, Salim has finally be arrested and charged with Ballman’s kidnapping, rape and murder, including injecting her with heroin and killing her unborn child, reports the Tribune.

FULTON COUNTY, KY – A Tennessee fugitive wanted on child rape charges was captured in Fulton County, Kentucky on Friday night. Deputies with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30-year-old David Bradley Hopper after they found him inside a home on KY 2134. The arrest occurred after the department received a tip from the Lake County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office that Hopper might be in the county.

A former Stockport mayor likely will spend the rest of his life in prison for raping a girl under 13, after his sentencing on Wednesday in Morgan County Common Pleas Court. The sentences, delivered after a jury convicted Michael Shane Shuster on April 4, will require him to serve 105 years before he is eligible for parole, Morgan County Prosecutor Mark Howdyshell said.
