VALDOSTA, GA – A south Georgia man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole on charges of child molestation, aggravated sexual battery and rape. A judge in Lowndes County sentenced 60-year-old Carter Arnold Wednesday, a day after the man – who represented himself in the case – cross-examined the 13-year-old victim.

Court Rules 16-YO Foster Child Cannot Have An Abortion

A Nebraskan appeal court has banned a 16-year-old foster girl from having an abortion – forcing her instead into a position of teenage motherhood. The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, brought the appeal case to court after an initial ruling in July by a lower court where Douglas County District Judge Peter Bataillon refused her the right to choose an abortion. Then a majority vote of 5-2 in the Supreme Court upheld this decision. The case has caused a flurry of reaction online, with one legal expert pointing out that in this case judges are using their judicial influence to promote their own ideology with disregard to the dire consequences for the most vulnerable. In Nebraska, a person under the age of 18 must obtain written, notarised consent from a parent or guardian before undergoing an abortion.

A maths teacher who offered schoolgirls £300 to pose topless and sent naked pictures of himself to a 16-year-old girl has been jailed for more than two years. Neil Mason, 28 – who taught at The Heath School in Runcorn, Cheshire – made sexual suggestions to girls, often texting under a pseudonym and using Facebook, Chester Crown Court heard. He used pupils at the school as ‘sex objects of desire to satisfy his sexual lust’ and admitted intimately kissing the girl to whom he sent the naked images on the lips and stroking her leg.

4 Children Rescued; All Are Malnourished, Cannot Speak

DENVER – Four children found living in a Denver home full of flies and cat feces were severely malnourished and could only communicate with each other in grunts, according to an arrest affidavit released Monday. The boys’ parents, Wayne Sperling, 66, and Lorinda Bailey, 35, are charged with multiple counts of child abuse. The investigation began when Bailey took her 2-year-old son to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital to be treated for a cut on his forehead on Sept. 29. The child was non-verbal, unwashed, and smelled like cigarette smoke, according to the emergency room doctor.

A grandmother has been charged with the murder of her granddaughter after she allegedly hit the baby with a sledgehammer as she lay sleeping before slitting her throat. Alfreda Giedrojc, 61, is believed to have killed six-month-old Vivian Summers on Sunday morning, authorities said on Monday. The grandmother, of Oak Lawn, Illinois, allegedly placed the baby on the floor of the suburban home and hit her repeatedly with the sledgehammer. She then retrieved a carving knife from the kitchen and slit the baby’s throat.

ALABAMA — Police in Alabama believe that four people found shot to death in a car 65 miles northwest of Birmingham were killed in an apparent murder-suicide plot after two of them had been charged, the other two implicated in a Tennessee child pornography investigation. Authorities would not release the names of the victims, but Winston County Sheriff Rick Harristold WVTM News that two of the bodies had been identified as people who had been charged in connection with a child pornography case and had been scheduled to appear in a Tennessee court yesterday. The other two people in the car had been implicated, but not officially charged in the case.

Search for High Risk Offender

LLOYDMINSTER, Saskatchewan – RCMP are asking the public to be on the lookout for 48-year-old Michael Sean Stanley who is a high-risk sex offender. RCMP say Stanley left Edmonton on Tuesday morning, went to Lloydminster and cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet. The bracelet was found on a business’s roof in the 4300-block of 54 Avenue. Mounties say Stanley has a long history of sexual offences and has taken kids from playgrounds in the past.

School Employee Indicted in Ohio Rape Case

An IT worker at Steubenville High School has been sensationally indicted by the grand jury investigating additional crimes in the now infamous Ohio rape case, MailOnline can report. Steubenville City Schools employee, William Rhinaman, 53, stands accused of tampering with evidence, obstructing justice, obstructing official business and perjury. The most serious of the charges – tampering with evidence and perjury – carry a maximum jail term of three year. His indictment is the first such issued by Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and the latest development in the ongoing investigation into the case that shocked the nation when it came to trial in March.

Heather Koon, 25, faces two counts of rape after police say they found video on her laptop of her “engaging in sexual conduct with an unknown infant.” An investigation also revealed an additional victim, according to WOIO.

MI Man Accused Of Multiple Sex Crimes In Two Counties

A 20-year-old Kalkaska man is facing multiple sex crimes charges in two counties. Scott Buning went in front of a judge in May in Kalkaska County for the charges. Police say the crimes took place at the victim’s home in Rapid River Township. He is also facing sex crimes charges in Antrim County for one count of criminal sexual conduct of the first degree, the prosecutor tells 9&10 News these crimes happened at a relative’s home in Mancelona Township.
