A teenager whose mother suffered sexual abuse from the age of eight has revealed the shocking moment she learned her grandfather was also her father. Arie Kibibi, 19, appeared on Katie Couric’s show on Monday afternoon with her mother, Aziza Kibibi, 35, who detailed the years of abuse – and five pregnancies – at the hands of her father. Her father, Aswad Ayinde, a successful music video director best known for the Fugees’ ‘Killing Me Softly’, was sentenced to 50 years in prison in August for the sickening abuse. Arie told Katie that, as she grew up, she repeatedly asked her mother who her father was, and all her mother would ever say was that he was someone her grandfather had approved of.

A female teacher found guilty of having sex with a 12-year-old student has been sentenced to 38 years in prison today. Married mother Ethel Anderson, 31, was told she was a ‘parents’ worst nightmare,’ on Monday as she was jailed in Tampa, Florida. Judge Chet Tharpe told Anderson in court that she manipulated the boy’s parents into believing he was safe and groomed the child for sex. Anderson was charged with nine counts of molesting a student after it was discovered that she was having sex with a boy who was 12-years-old at the time.

FARGO — A Florida fugitive has been arrested in West Fargo. Members of the US Marshal Service High Plains Regional Fugitive task force arrested Gonzalo Jimenez, 40, at a construction site. He was wanted for the rape of a relative who was under the age of 12 in Orange County, Florida in September.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — A school-bus driver has been arrested on rape charges that police say involve an 11-year-old student. The Clark County sheriff’s office said Adam James Overholser, 21, of New Carlisle, was charged with rape of a child younger than 13 and gross sexual imposition. READ MORE HERE

Pope Francis is assembling a panel of experts to advise him on sex abuse in the clergy, the archbishop of Boston said today. The panel will look at how to protect children from pedophiles, how to better screen men for the priesthood and how to help victims who have already been harmed. The creation of the panel was announced today following a meeting between the Pope and his cardinal advisers and will tackle the sexual abuse scandals that have rocked the Catholic Church in recent years.

A senior detective has warned parents to monitor the social networks their children use after three men were convicted of grooming girls as young as 13 and exploiting them for sex. Six girls in total were exploited by taxi driver Shakil Munir, 32, and Sakib Ahmed, 19, after they were groomed over Facebook and BlackBerry Messenger. Another man, Ateeq Latif, 17, was found guilty of helping the commission of a child sex offence.

PRESCOTT – A jury on Wednesday found aggravating factors in Eric G. McNeill’s two convictions in a child sex trial and he could serve almost 34 years in prison. McNeill, 65, was accused of sexual contact with three girls. One set of charges deals with a victim under 15 years old in 1986; a second with a victim over 15 in 1989; and the third a victim under 15 in 2011. Seven counts were dismissed throughout the course of the trial.

Police found a ‘shocking amount of child pornography’ in the home of an Iowa doctor who was arrested for sexually abusing a five-year-old girl when she told her mom that he ‘tortures’ her. Dr Dennis Seaborn Jones, 68, of Council Bluffs, who has been a pediatrician for 19 years – and has been used in the past as an expert witness in child molestation court cases, giving him access to photographs related to those crimes – was arrested in May after a parent filed a complaint against him. The complaint came after the child told a parent that she no longer wanted to see Jones because of the ‘torture’ he inflicted.

An Ohio woman and her ex-boyfriend pleaded guilty today in the killing of her 18-month-old daughter, whose remains were found in a box in a garage three months after she was reported missing. Steven King II, the 24-year-old ex-boyfriend of mother Angela Steinfurth, told a Toledo judge that he had found the girl, Elaina Steinfurth, injured in her bedroom and that he tried to resuscitate her. He said he then smothered her to death and put her in a box. The girl’s remains were found in September in the rafters of a garage that belongs to King’s family.

A man accused of murdering his 11-month-old son blamed his dog for causing the child’s death, a court heard. Michael Beaumont, 29, a part-time gardener, claimed his son, Kadan, was ‘flipped over’ by Staffordshire terrier Mia before banging his head on the garden steps. But the prosecution at Sheffield Crown Court said the head injuries, which saw Kadan die in hospital, were caused by Beaumont hours before he called an ambulance.
