Columbia, Maryland – Police have identified the two retail employees killed in a shooting at a Maryland mall. The Howard County Police said late Saturday that the victims were 21-year-old Brianna Benlolo of College Park, Md., and 25-year-old Tyler Johnson of Ellicott City, Md. The gunman also died. Both worked at Zumiez, which sold skate apparel and accessories. Police say the attack took place outside Zumiez on the upper level of the Mall in Columbia, a suburb of both Baltimore and Washington.
McMahon said authorities ran into difficulty in identifying the gunman because of concerns that he might be carrying explosives. Five other people were injured.

A man has been charged with over 2,000 rapes of the same female spanning 20 years – they are among a sickening 5,100 sex counts. Donald Burrell is said to have started raping his victim in 1991 when she was seven-years-old, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The abuse by the now 55-year-old continued ‘non-stop’ for more than 20 years, state police said, and led to Burrell’s recent arrest on more than 5,100 sexual abuse charges. Burrell remained locked up in the Bradford County Jail Tuesday night on $2.2 million bond. Preliminary court hearings are pending.

A 77-year-old man was arrested on Saturday and charged with multiple counts of raping a child. Wayne Arland Kent, 77, of New London, is charged with three counts of rape of a child, three counts of indecent liberties with a child and three counts of crime against nature, according to the news release from the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office.

RICHLANDS, ONSLOW COUNTY – Deputies have arrested two parents for allegedly possessing meth with the intent to sell it from their Onslow County home that they share with five children. According to the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Holly Allen and 31-year-old Jarred Mackey are accused of selling meth from their home on Gregory Fork Road near Richlands. Deputies said they received a tip about a meth lab on Saturday, which sparked the investigation. Five children, between 1 month to 13 years old, live at that home, said investigators. Some of the children had Allen’s last name and some had Mackey’s, according to deputies.

DETROIT – A Detroit man and his girlfriend are in police custody after the man’s 16-month-old nephew died from hyperthermia and burns in their Keating Street home. The toddler’s 22-year-old uncle and the woman were babysitting the boy while his mother attended a program to assist her in getting a job. But the house had no running water or heat. They were using space heaters to stay warm.

(CNN) — A gunman shot and killed another man Tuesday inside Purdue University’s electrical engineering building, spurring worried students to scramble into the bitter cold outside for safety. The Indiana school’s police chief said that the suspect appeared to have had just one target in mind. He left the building right after the shooting, and a city police officer arrested him. “This appears to be an isolated and intentional act,” Purdue Police Chief John Cox said. “…The victim appeared to have been targeted by the suspect, and it was no more and no less than that.”

Jacksonville, FL — A 23-year-old woman is charged with murder in the death of her nearly 3-month-old son in September. Jacksonville police said Stephanie Schoonover shook the baby on Sept. 6 and hit his head on a crib. The boy died two days later. Rescuers called to the home on Sago Avenue in Oceanway found Logan Hancock unresponsive. The Medical Examiner recently ruled the death a homicide by blunt force trauma.

A 14-year-old girl has been charged as a juvenile with first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing her little sister in their Chicago home on Tuesday morning. The 11-year-old victim, who not been named, had more than 30 stab wounds across her neck, chest and arms, and three slashes to her face. The teenage suspect initially claimed a stranger had broken in, but she allegedly confessed after police revealed they had found a strand of the killer’s hair in the victim’s hand.

A pedophile will usually exhibit a series of personality characteristics that are common in this type of offender. It is important to understand that these characteristics alone do not conclusively determine that a person is a pedophile. But if these indicators, combined with a pattern of behavior that arouses suspicion, are present then there may be enough probable cause to believe that the person is a pedophile.

A high-ranking official at Pacific University in Oregon has been indicted on sex abuse crimes involving two of his young relatives. Sgt. Vance Stimler, of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, said 48-year-old Michael David Mallery was booked into jail Tuesday on seven counts of first-degree sex abuse. Mallery is accused of sexually abusing two relatives under the age of 18 in 2010 and 2013. The 48-year-old suspect is the Forest Grove school’s vice president for finance and administration.

An administrator at Alhambra High School has resigned after a former student posted a video on YouTube that showed the young woman confronting the instructor she said abused her for years. Jamie Carrillo recorded video of an emotional phone conversation that showed her calling her alleged female abuser and demanding answers. Carrillo, 28, spoke exclusively to KTLA after she posted the video online Friday. She planned to hold a news conference at 2:30 p.m. Monday. On the call, Carrillo can be heard talking about the basketball coach she knew as Ms. Cardosa, from Chemawa Middle School in Riverside. Jamie said the former coach, who was identified in the video’s description on YouTube as Andrea Cardosa, began sexually molesting her when she was just 12 years old.

Cape Town – Burnt and bruised, a 9-year-old child left to die after she was raped said her assailant laughed as he set her alight. On Sunday afternoon, her family found her, still alive, huddled on top of a pile rocks, in the bush beside the R300. She had been on her way to her father’s house when she disappeared at about 8pm on Saturday. “She was moving, still able to talk. She could tell us that she recognized the face of the man who raped her and that he laughed when he lit her, saying, ‘You won’t be able to tell anyone it was me,’” the child’s aunt said.
