A police officer has been jailed after subjecting a child to a campaign of shocking abuse. Christopher Hamilton from Gateshead was working as a PC when he began a sickening course of what a judge branded ‘sheer and deliberate cruelty’ against the youngster. His victim suffered a series of disturbing injuries as well as significant emotional abuse while alone with the disgraced officer. A court heard the child suffered burns to their hands, bruising to the face and hair loss. And in a sickening twist, Hamilton left the victim in tears after making humiliating videos on his phone. While he recorded the footage, he forced the youngster to say hurtful things about their family members and even recorded the youngster on the toilet.

It’s bad enough when a child is bullied by another child, but when they’re dealing with adult bullies it’s an even bigger blow to their self-esteem and well-being. After all, adults are supposed to be the trustworthy ones, the people you go to when you need help, the responsible ones who tell you everything is going to be okay. Imagine being a child and hearing horrible taunts coming out of the mouth of a trusted teacher, or worse, an adult family member. Teaching your child to deal with adult bullies is a little different than teaching them to deal with bullying from their peers.

LUFKIN, TX – Following a pre-sentencing investigation, Judge Paul White sentenced a 41-year-old Lufkin man to 30 years in prison Tuesday for sending raunchy text messages to, taking photos of, and having sex with a 13-year-old boy back in 2012. David Forrester appeared in the 159th Judicial District Court Tuesday. He pleaded guilty to felony charges of possession of child pornography and online solicitation of a minor in December 2013.

A mum has been arrested over claims she allowed her young daughter to be raped by a gang of men. The girl, who was just four when the assaults began, has told detectives she was repeatedly sexually abused by different males over a five-year period. Seven people were arrested on Tuesday over the alleged abuse of the 10-year-old, whose parents are Lithuanian.

PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania couple who believe in faith-healing face 20 years or more in prison in the death of a second child who died without seeing a doctor. Herbert and Catherine Schaible are being sentenced Wednesday in the death last year of their 8-month-old son, Brandon. At the time, they were under court orders to seek medical care for their children after their 2-year-old son, Kent, died of untreated pneumonia in 2009.

A Missouri public school employee is accused of abducting and slaying a 10-year-old girl who was reported missing Tuesday. A Greene County warrant charges Craig Michael Wood, 45, with first-degree murder in the killing of Hailey Owens. The girl was allegedly abducted while walking near her home in Springfield on Tuesday afternoon.

A Marlette Township father and his young son have been arraigned on charges in the 2013 shooting death of an 11-year-old boy. Jerry Northrup, 56, appeared in 73rd District Court Thursday on charges of weapons-firearms possession by a felon, a 5-year felony, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a 90-day misdemeanor. Northrup was scheduled for a pre-exam conference on Feb. 18, and a preliminary exam on Feb. 25. He was released on personal recognizance bond of $2,500.

CROSWELL, Michigan – A 22-year-old mother has been charged in a child abuse case involving her 10-month-old daughter. Sarah Daldine of Croswell was arrested last Thursday and arraigned in 73rd District Court Friday on 4 felony counts: 2 counts of assault by strangulation; and 2 counts of child abuse-second degree. Her pre-exam conference is set for Feb. 20 and the preliminary examination on Feb. 25 She was released on cash or surety $1,000.

HESPERIA, Michigan – The death of a four-month-old infant is under investigation by the Michigan State Police in Oceana County. According to troopers at the MSP Hart Post, the infant was from Hesperia. It was found unresponsive on Monday and taken to Gerber Hospital in Fremont. From there, the infant was flown to DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, where it was pronounced dead on Tuesday.

A soldier from Washington County is arrested at his base in Washington state on charges of child rape. Sgt. Joseph T. French, 27, was arrested at Joint Base Lewis-McChord last week. He was formally charged in federal court on Valentines Day. Washington State Police were alerted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, where according to federal court filings, the alleged rape was reported. The document states the girls’ mother reported the alleged crimes on Sunday February 9. The mother says French had been raping her 10-year-old daughter for 3 years with some of those incidents happening in Chipley and others at his base home in Washington State.

MANILA, Philippines — Government agents raided an Internet child porn operation based in a Philippine school and arrested its president and eight other people, investigators said Tuesday. The suspects used a room at the Mountaintop Christian Academy to post online images and video of children and adults for foreign consumption, said Ronald Aguto, cybercrime investigation head in the National Bureau of Investigation. Authorities were still investigating, but Aguto said it didn’t appear that children at the school were being abused and that the operators were uploading pre-recorded images and video stored.

A Kansas lawmaker is proposing a bill that would allow teachers, caregivers and parents to spank children hard enough to leave marks. Current Kansas law allows parents to smack their children, as long as it doesn’t leave marks. But now State Rep. Gail Finney, a Democrat from Wichita, says she wants to allow up to 10 strikes of the hand and that could leave redness and bruising.

A Maryland man and military combat veteran who currently works for the National Security Agency has been charged in the fatal beating of his 3-year-old son who was adopted months earlier from Korea after he failed to bond with the boy, police said Tuesday. Brian Patrick O’Callaghan, 36, has been charged with first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in the death of the boy earlier this month. O’Callaghan was ordered held without bond during a court appearance Tuesday as his lawyer said his client did not commit any crime. O’Callaghan, a former Marine, is a National Security Agency worker who specializes in Korea, his attorney said.

A motorcyclist found a baby’s body just after noon Sunday on Singleton Parkway, just south of I-269 in Millington. “I would say that it seems like the body has been there for some time,” said Millington Police Chief Rita Stanback. “It’s less than a year old, wearing a onesie.” Millington investigators contacted Memphis Police Department crime scene investigators knowing they had been working a missing baby case since early January.
