HARTFORD, CT – Police in Hartford said a 2-month-old who was in critical condition after an incident on April 15 has died. Adore Marie Daniels died Tuesday shortly after 4 a.m., according to Lt. Brian Foley of the Hartford Police Department. Police said it looked like the child had been shaken. Marcus Rooks, Adore’s father, was arrested.

FBI agents from Houston are spearheading an international probe to determine how many students at elite private schools in nine countries fell victim to a teacher who authorities contend was a serial predator for more than four decades. The local agents went public with their investigation Tuesday, saying they may never know how many victims William James Vahey exploited during a global career that began in 1972 after he stopped registering for a molestation conviction in California. A thumb drive holds photos that show he had at least 90 victims since 2008 alone, according to the Houston FBI agents who are leading the ongoing global probe to find his victims as well as determine the extent of his crime.

An Illinois woman has turned the lessons she learned in her recovery from her own childhood sexual abuse into a nationwide push to pass state laws that require student lessons and teacher training about the issue in public schools. Starting in her home state in 2011, Erin Merryn has successfully pushed for passage of a so-called “Erin’s Law” in 10 states, and she expects that number to grow as 26 have considered or are considering similar bills in their 2013 and 2014 legislative sessions. The bills, which vary state by state, generally require age-appropriate instruction for children as young as prekindergarten on preventing, recognizing, and reporting sexual abuse. They also either allow teachers to count training on sexual abuse toward continuing education requirements or mandate such training for all public school personnel.

TULSA, Oklahoma -Tulsa Police are looking for two suspected child abusers at the top of their most wanted list. Police say Rosa Taylor and Tony Davis are both wanted on felony warrants with two counts for child abuse. The 35-year-old Taylor is described as a black female with brown eyes and black hair. They say she is 5-feet-1-inch tall and about 130 pounds.

CHARLESTON, S.C. — A North Charleston man is facing homicide by child abuse charges after police were called to MUSC’s Children’s Hospital last week. According to police, 46-year-old Eugene Anthony Wright, of Dorchester Road, was charged in the case. Police say they were called to the children’s hopshospitalnurses who filed a child abuse complaint after a 17-month-old girl was taken to the hospital by EMS. Officials say the girl had injuries that appeared to be from abuse.

The alleged hysterics of a bath salts user during a Sullivan County fishing trip — including holding a juvenile in the woods for hours under the direction of “Jesus” and removing his own pants at a convenience store to stab non-existent mice and spiders — have prompted charges of child abuse and neglect. Timothy Greenwood, 43, address provided as 626 Morrell Creek Lane, Bluff City, was arrested early Friday morning by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office. An incident report states a deputy was called to a disturbance at a home off Hickory Tree Road, finding Greenwood running through a yard in only his shirt and underwear. He was also reportedly “screaming there were bears everywhere.”

CHICAGO — A former resident of Des Plaines, Ill., was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison for sexually molesting children between 2 and 11 years old to produce child pornography. This sentence was announced by Zachary T. Fardon, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, and Gary J. Hartwig, special agent in charge of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Chicago. Bobby Cruz, 34, pleaded guilty in September to one count of interstate travel to engage in sex with a minor and two counts of producing child pornography. This plea agreement resolved separate federal cases that were brought in both the Northern and Central districts of Illinois. He has remained in federal custody since his arrest in November 2011.

Washington Parish, LA – Murray Duncan Jr., a 45-year-old special education teacher at Mt. Hermon Junior High School, was jailed Wednesday after he allegedly molested 6 children. According to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, an investigation was launched after a parent came forward with allegations that Duncan had sexually molested their child.

STEUBENVILLE, OH — A former volunteer coach whose house was the scene of an underage drinking party before the 2012 rape of a girl by two high school football players plans to plead no contest to charges connected to the case, law enforcement officials said Monday. Defendant Matt Belardine is expected to plead no contest Tuesday to one count of making a false statement and one count of enabling underage drinking, said Dan Tierney, spokesman for Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine. Counts of obstructing official business and contributing to the delinquency of a child are expected to be dismissed, Tierney said.

STOCKTON – Police arrested Paul Teldeschi, 37, on suspicion of the child abuse of his 10-month-old foster daughter who is in a coma and not expected to survive. “I don’t believe it,” neighbor Kimberly Stewart said. “I don’t believe its true.” Kimberly and Chigger Stewart have lived across the street from the Teldeschis in the 200 block of East Cleveland Avenue for three years. They said Paul Teldeschi and his wife had two biological children and had recently taken in the baby girl.

A three-year-old girl has been shot in the leg as she traveled in her family’s car in South Houston. In what police are calling an incident of road rage, a driver opened fire on the family car on Saturday night around 10:30pm. Little Leah was a passenger in the back of her mother and father’s SUV along with her one-year-old brother.

A 90-pound Kansas City man was so desperate for a child bride that he peed in bottles to avoid stopping on a marathon 18-hour drive to meet her. Christopher Lanning, 40, now faces a host of charges including traveling to meet a child for sex and transmitting obscene material to a minor. According to a report in the Orlando Sentinel, Lanning created a highly detailed fantasy of what he thought would be his marriage to a 14-year-old girl.

A pedophile was allowed to run a clinic offering treatments to young children for two months after a court found him guilty of his sickening crimes. Timothy Millender, 32, continued to work at Redwood Health Therapies, in Winchester, Hampshire, which offered hypnotherapy to youngsters under 16, despite being given a six month suspended sentence for hoarding vile images of babies being raped and tortured. Millender pleaded guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court to having 740 pictures and 106 videos of children as young as six months being abused. Some of the films were level five, the most extreme level possible.
