An alleged victim of historical child abuse has instructed lawyers over his intention to take legal action, claiming the Government is in breach of its obligations to victims of abuse. The victim, who has asked not to be named for legal reasons, believes the government has not lived up to Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which guarantees respect for home life. Had it done so, it is claimed, many more victims would have come forward to assist the police. The victim is an alleged survivor of child abuse at Grafton Close, a care home run by Richmond Borough Council in south-west London.

A pregnant woman has been accused of savagely beating her one-year-old daughter along with her boyfriend last year. Gabriella Berry, now two, suffers seizures and wears an arm and leg brace after allegedly being assaulted by her mother April Koch and Koch’s boyfriend, Joshua Garbowsky, in their Irwin, Pennsylvania apartment. Koch and Garbowsky, both 22 and expecting their first child, allegedly told cops Gabby fell out of her crib and hit her head, fracturing her skull. However doctors who examined her claimed she showed signs of ‘physical child abuse’.

A Sydney man has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and refused bail after a nine-month-old baby boy in his care suffered serious head injuries. The infant was rushed to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead on Wednesday afternoon after paramedics and police were informed that the child had been injured at his Lalor Park home on Koorool Avenue. He is currently in a critical but stable condition.

Today WNEM.COM reported the adoptive parents of an 8-year-old boy are “behind bars on child abuse charges” after the boy who was “chained up called 911 for help.” Wednesday evening police arrested Melvin and Kenya Bloomingburg after their adoptive son told police that he “had to sleep on a dresser while he was chained up in his bedroom.” He also told authorities that “he was chained inside a backyard shed for three days and was denied food by his mother and father.” According to the affidavit, “one of their adoptive sons called 911 and told police he was chained to his bedroom wall.”

Today Latest.com reported a pastor and two church members from The Heart of Worship pleaded guilty to “torturing and threatening the life of a 13-year-old boy.” The boy’s mother asked the three men to teach her son “how to be a man after he sexually assaulted his 7-year-old sister.” The pastor ministered a group to about 20 members, “predominantly single mothers and transient men seeking to re-establish their lives. The church operated a group home providing members with food and shelter for a fee. The self-claimed man of God was the ultimate authority, dictating what members read, who they dated and what movies they watched. He was also in charge of discipline, which resulted in the boy’s abuse.”

Four children and their parents who were allegedly murdered by a crazed uncle Wednesday night heroically refused to tell the gunman where his ex-wife was, prompting him to tie them up and shoot them in the back of the head, authorities said. The incredible bravery was revealed as it emerged Ronald Lee Haskell, 33, had taped his own mother to a chair a week ago, choked her and threatened to kill her for speaking to his ex-wife, according to police records obtained by ABC News. The lone survivor of the suburban Houston attack, the slain couple’s 15-year-old daughter, suffered a fractured skull when a bullet grazed her head.

The attorney for a father who gunned down his daughter’s molester says the first degree murder charge against his client should be dropped. On Sunday, Jay Maynor, 41, of Cullman, Alabama allegedly drove his motorcycle to the home of Raymond Earl Brooks and shot Brooks to death with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol. In 2002, Brooks pleaded guilty to sexually abusing Maynor’s then-8-year-old daughter. Cullman County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Max Bartlett said Brooks was struck with two shots, one in each arm, at least one of which traversed his torso.

ANN ARBOR, Michigan -Ann Arbor Police say a 6-year-old girl was stabbed and beaten at Carrot Way Apartments near U.S. 23 and Pontiac Trail. Twenty-four-year-old Edward Harvey has been charged with three felonies, including assault with intent to murder and first-degree home invasion. Police say Harvey is seen on apartment surveillance video breaking in and later leaving the apartment. The girl was in critical condition after she was beaten and stabbed in the chest just below her collarbone. She was home with her grandmother when she was attacked.

A Queens mom made one of the sickest Facebook status updates ever, posting pictures of her dead baby’s corpse after smothering the helpless tot at bedtime, ­authorities said Tuesday. Nicole “Nikki” Kelly uploaded an image of 11-month-old Kiam Felix Jr. lying in a white suit and tie with the caption “RIP Tinkabutt,” alongside a picture of his body in a hospital bed. She also posted a rambling Facebook screed in which she admitted she failed to “protect” the boy.

ARLINGTON — This article includes descriptions of violence. An 18-month-old girl was beaten and stomped to death in Arlington on Friday and then her body, clad in a diaper and wrapped in a blanket, was buried under a bridge near Springtown, according to a search warrant affidavit. Arlington police on Monday arrested Joshua Markus Beard, 20, the boyfriend of the toddler’s mother, Alexis Botello, 17. He was already in jail in unrelated cases. Beard faces a capital murder charge in the death of Tylea Moore. As of Monday, Botello had not been arrested.

BAY CITY, MI — Starting a Facebook account is a big no-no if you’re a sex offender, especially if you’re on parole and are running an illegal tattoo parlor out of your house. A Bay County man found out how serious the offense is in getting sent to prison for up to the next four years. Bay County Chief Circuit Judge Kenneth W. Schmidt on Monday, July 7, sentenced Steven D. Young, 40, to 18 months to four years in prison on a charge of failure to comply with the Sexual Offenders Registration Act. The judge did not give Young credit for time served, as his new sentence is consecutive to the one for which he was on parole — first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person younger than 13.

A West Allis woman is accused of abusing and torturing a three-year-old boy. The 32-year-old woman appeared in court on Monday, July 7th — for what turned out to be an emotionally-charged hearing. 32-year-old Jennifer Garcia of West Allis faces more than a dozen charges in a child abuse case involving her boyfriend’s three-year-old child. Garcia’s preliminary hearing ended with a lot of screams and shouting from the boy’s family members — as Garcia was escorted from the courtroom.
