For Mary Jo McVeigh, a counselor and child trauma expert, who has worked with children for over 25 years, it was a random interaction between her pet dog and a young client that opened her eyes to a new approach, one which is producing unexpected results.

More than three decades have passed since sisters “Mary” and “Sarah” had their childhood innocence stolen at the hands of their father. It was 1977 when, unbeknown to each of the sisters, Francis Joseph Grego began subjecting each of the then young children to sordid sexual abuse. “Mary” and “Sarah” have chosen not to use their real names, saying they want to protect their young children.

SALT LAKE CITY — Elizabeth Smart is using her story to help raise money for child abuse prevention and treatment services. Smart spoke Wednesday at the Family Support Center’s Blue Ribbon Breakfast. The morning of June 5, 2002, changed her life in a way she never could have prepared for. “Having a stranger break into my home and kidnap me at knifepoint and on the threat of death, I thought I was having a nightmare,” she said.

Jermaine Jackson Book Admits He Planned Escape for Michael If Convicted During Child Molestation Trial

According to his new book, ‘You Are Not Alone: Michael Through A Brother’s Eyes,’ Jermaine Jackson secretly arranged to fly his brother Michael Jackson out of the U.S. and to Bahrain if the gloved one was found guilty of child molestation charges during a 2005 court case. Jermaine feared his brother “wouldn’t survive” jail.

Women Suing Boy Scouts for 1970’s Sexual Abuse

Sex Abuse Victim Rejects Government Apology

Sex abuse victim and campaigner, Michelle Stubbs, has rejected an apology from the State Government and returned a copy of it to every member of the Barnett Government. The apology was issued by the State Government as a part of WA Redress, which was set up in 2008 to acknowledge and apologise to adults who were abused or neglected as children while in State care.

Child Sex Abuse Can Lead To Multiple Personality Disorders

Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD) is a rare disorder and is frequently over diagnosed. In fact, in the year 2000 (MPD) is no longer a working diagnosis. It has been changed to Dissociative Identity Disorder. Dissociative Disorder is the presence of two or more personalities. These personalites cannot recall specific information about themselves. There can be florid psychosis,delusions and hallucinations. It is common for self injurious behavior to occur, angry outbursts and suicidal gestures. Loss of childhood memories are common. A past history of severe trauma as a child usually helps confirm the diagnosis.

Woman Still Haunted By Her Childhood Sexual Abuse

A MUM abused by her pervert uncle has spoken of her child sex abuse ordeal and revealed how she can finally rebuild her life now her tormentor is dead. Alexander Pepperell molested Katie O’Neill from the time she was a tot. He was jailed for five years in January 2009 after being convicted of five offences of indecent assault and three charges of indecency with a child at Cardiff Crown Court in December 2008.
