Sexual abuse of children is a major problem
Child sexual abuse is an epidemic affecting youth from all backgrounds and every neighborhood in our country. National statistics released by the United States Department of Justice indicate that one out of three girls and one out of five boys will be sexually abused by age 18. Elementary age children are the most vulnerable to this type of abuse. In 68 percent of cases, a family member is responsible for committing the crime. Only 10 percent of victims are abused by a stranger.

What in the world has happened to the United States? Once upon a time the U.S. was one of the best places in the world to raise a child, but today it is an absolutely horrible place for children. We physically abuse our children at staggering rates, we pump them full of antidepressants and other pharmaceutical drugs and we send them off to public schools that more closely resemble prison camps every single day. Meanwhile, the economic decline of the America is hitting children far harder than it is hitting the adult population. More than one out of every five children in America is living in poverty and one out of every four children is on food stamps. One of the ways that a society is judged is by how it treats its most vulnerable members. As you will see below, the way that children are treated in America today is absolutely shameful.
Too Many Are Missing…And they are still among us. 2,300 Americans go missing on a daily basis: Both children and adults. And yet so many go unrecognized, unreported, and forgotten before their communities know they’re gone.
Dreamcatchers new Missing Children’s Division is focused on bringing each of these cases to the forefront and helping locate them!!
Psychological abuse is a subtle method used to destroy a child’s sense of well being, to instill fear or terror, or prevent, undermine or destroy confidence. The use of psychological abuse, brutality or torture on a growing child is most damaging. It prevents the child from being who they were born to be, and limits or destroys their ability to function normally in life. It is the most damagning of child abuse, without leaving any physical scars.

New Study Warns of the Dangers of Social Media to Children and Teens
A new report, which is almost sort of certain to attract some rather harsh feedback from hardcore social media enthusiasts, claims that teens who are addicted to social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace, are more likely to fall victim to alcohol, nicotine, and even marijuana than those who shy away from socialising in the virtual world.

Child abuse ‘instruction manual’ could be banned
A book written by Christian fundamentalists from the US that teaches parents how to beat their children could be banned. The book, To Train Up A Child, is being investigated by Internal Affairs after a complaint was made last week. The book promotes using weapons, thumping, smacking, hair pulling and even sitting on them in order to get children to obey – and insists the “conditioning” must cause physical pain.
The National Sex Offender Public Website—coordinated by the Department of Justice—enables every citizen to search the latest information from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and numerous Indian tribes for the identity and location of known sex offenders. You can also search registry websites maintained by individual jurisdictions by following the links below. Note: the information contained in the national registry and the state and tribal registries is identical; the national registry simply enables a search across multiple jurisdictions.

You’re shopping at the mall with your children when one of them suddenly disappears. A quick search of the nearby area is unsuccessful. What do you do?
Now there’s a free new tool from the FBI that can help. Our just launched Child ID app—the first mobile application created by the FBI—provides a convenient place to electronically store photos and vital information about your children so that it’s literally right at hand if you need it. You can show the pictures and provide physical identifiers such as height and weight to security or police officers on the spot. Using a special tab on the app, you can also quickly and easily e-mail the information to authorities with a few clicks.
The FBI’s new Child ID app can be downloaded for free from the App Store on iTunes:

Dreamcatchers for Abused Children is pleased to announce their newest sponsor Nashville singing sensation Curtis Braly, and the release of his newest single “Caylee’s Eyes.”
Since the end of the Casey Anthony Trial many movements have been put into action, hoping to enforce stricter laws and harsher punishments for people who are charge and convicted of child abuse, child neglect and child homicide, a worldwide epidemic, rapidly growing throughout our great nation.
Regardless of the outcome of the Casey Anthony Trial, one thing remains certain; two-year old Caylee Anthony’s life was taken way too soon.
The beautiful face and innocent spirit of Caylee will live in our hearts and memories forever. “Caylee’s Eyes” is Braly’s contribution to her memory and his attempt to help raise awareness and provide funding for a much too common tragedy that innocent children are forced to face everyday. Braly personally asks the public to support and join this movement by downloading “Caylee’s Eyes” from popular websites such as iTunes, Rhapsody & Amazon starting August 13, 2011.
Braly announced Friday on his website that all proceeds from the sale of “Caylee’s Eyes” will be donated directly to Dreamcatchers for Abused Children, Braly’s chosen worldwide non-profit 501(c)3 child abuse and neglect organization committed to breaking the cycle of violence against children. Help For Abused Children Is Out There– You Just Need To Know Where To Look
As a parent, I really cringe when I hear about a child being abused by anyone. Unfortunately, children remain prime targets for physical, mental and sexual abuse perpetrated in diverse settings. In order for us to help child abuse victims, we first must acknowledge its existence and then begin to understand how and where it occurs.
My law practice is focused on representing the most vulnerable members of our society in claims and lawsuits against individuals and companies that have caused them harm. The young and old are impacted in unique ways as a result of injures suffered due to the fault of another. The specialized needs demand an experienced and dedicated advocate.
I take great pride in helping individuals and families fight to recover all damages they are entitled to under the law. Many times, my representation utilizes an out-of-the box approach to both establishing liability on the part of wrong-doer and using the latest technology to assist in proving damages to an insurance company or jury.

Many are getting upset over Facebook spy ware software for parents. I was looking at one, Spector Pro, the other day to understand what it was all about. The software allows you to secretly record emails, instant messages, and chats. It also prevents private information from being revealed (how is that possible) and can set restrictions like time allowed on the child. It also filters adult-related web chat and emails.
