WANTED FOR ALLEGED ATTEMPTED RAPE OF A CHILD
The San Jose Police Department is currently seeking Gabino Armendariz Lopez on a warrant charging him with an alleged attempted rape of a 12 year old girl and a completed child molest against the same girl. Lopez was last known to live in the east side of San Jose and worked as a janitor and landscaper. He told relatives that he was fleeing to Mexico. A $500,000.00 Ramey Warrant is on file for Lopez’s arrest. READ MORE HERE

Back to school spells sports and after-school activities for kids, but what about those days you come home from work late and your tween doesn’t have anything scheduled? For many parents, allowing preteens to stay home alone is a big, nervous decision. With a few essential safety tips in place that establish a routine for your tween, after-school will be fun with little worry for you.
1. Build a trust network with your neighborhood watch group.
Before the school year starts, choose neighbors your child is comfortable with contacting so she has someone to call or easily visit if she needs someone or gets scared. Contacting your local neighborhood watch group is an ideal, safe source you can establish a trust network with. Nnwi.org is a national neighborhood watch association dedicated to helping communities promote safety. They offer great resources to help parents talk to neighbors about organizing “safe” places in the neighborhood if kids run into trouble.
2. Keeping kids busy keeps them out of trouble.
If this is your child’s first time staying home alone, they may be overwhelmed by the excitement of the idea. Allow your child to relax with personal downtime after school, but encourage them to complete homework or practice their band instrument as an incentive to have free time to hang out later at night. Scholastic.com offers interactive, self-guided arts and crafts activities that are learning tools but are fun enough to keep tween-aged kids from getting bored.
3. Have an emergency plan and then practice it.
Experts agree that staying safe when home alone is more about boosting confidence than causing them to be scared of potential intruders or emergencies. Do it yourself home security installation, which is conveniently connected to cellular phones, home phones and the Internet, can empower your tween to feel secure. Along with making sure smoke detectors and emergency services phone numbers are stored in your child’s phone, be sure your child understands to leave the house immediately when a smoke alarm goes off and head to the designated neighbors house to call 911.
4. Stick to the same route home everyday.
If your tween walks home, practice the route with her before school starts and insist she takes this same way every day. If she rides the bus, have her ride it every day. The National Safe Routes To School Partnership suggests your child say “No thanks” to unplanned rides from friends’ parents to avoid unpredictable situations such as accidents that could compromise safety. The same route ensures you can predict how long it will take your tween to arrive home safely.
5. Keep the phone mostly off-limits.
Unless you have caller ID, it’s a good idea for kids to avoid answering the phone. Tweens can be easily persuaded by potential intruders to expose personal information unknowingly. A dedicated cell phone for emergencies with family and friend’s numbers programmed can be helpful and more secure than the home phone. Mexican police identify American fugitive, charged with child rape, by Superman tattoo
Tobias Summers was named on the FBI’s list of most wanted fugitives.
An American fugitive’s Superhero tattoo was up, up and away the best way to identify him. Tobias Summers, 30, accused of kidnapping and raping a Los Angeles girl, 10, fled to a small Mexican village where he checked himself into a rehab clinic south of Tijuana — not exactly a fortress of solitude — under a pseudonym. Someone discerned Summers’ true identity and tipped off the FBI late Tuesday night and, the next day, Baja California state police identified him by the prominent Man of Steel emblem tattooed on his chest. Florida sets rapists and child molesters free to strike again
The Sun Sentinel set out to examine the effectiveness of the Jimmy Ryce law by determining the number of sex offenders released under the law who went on to commit new sex crimes. The newspaper obtained a database from the Florida Department of Children & Families of inmates screened since the law took effect in 1999, more than 31,000 individuals. Names, birth dates and screening dates were submitted to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The agency matched those against a statewide criminal history database and found 1,384 offenders had been rearrested on sex charges as of April 15. The number may be higher because arrest records do not always list the charge, the agency cautioned. In comparison, 759 sex offenders have been committed to the state’s sex predator treatment center. That means for every one committed, nearly two others were released and then arrested on a sex charge.
To identify offenders who have been convicted of a new sex offense, the Sun Sentinel compared the names, birth dates and screening dates with the Florida Department of Corrections database of felony convictions. Reporters also checked news clips of sex offender arrests. That process identified 594 men. Convictions for probation violations and failure to register as a sex offender were not counted. The tally includes sex-related murders but excludes 49 murders that did not appear to be sexually motivated.
The Sun Sentinel findings present only a partial picture of sexual re-offending since the data do not include arrests in other states or on federal charges. Also, research indicates many sex crimes are not reported and therefore would not result in an arrest or conviction. More than half of the 31,000 individuals screened under the Ryce law had limited ability to commit more sex crimes in Florida, according to corrections records and Florida’s sex offender registry. About 10,000 returned to prison after being reviewed, 1,800 were never released, and more than 4,800 died, were deported or moved to another state. About 7,600 are living in Florida, and the whereabouts of another 5,500 are unknown. At least 130 are listed as fugitives. READ MUCH MORE HERE
For every sex offender the state has committed under the 14-year-old Ryce law, two others have been released — only to be arrested again for a sex crime.
From South Florida to the Panhandle, these men have cut a fresh trail of pain, molesting more than 460 children, raping 121 women, and killing 14.
Many offenders attacked again only days after Florida let them go. Six found new victims the same day they walked out the prison gates.
These are the women who suffered at the hands of sex predators and a law that failed to protect them: A college student tortured to near death. A great-grandmother shot and raped in her own bed. Never before have they publicly discussed the horror they faced. They agreed to speak to the Sun Sentinel with one hope — that Florida fix the failures that turned their attackers loose. The state had a chance to stop those sex offenders and hundreds of others who went on to assault nearly 600 women and children over the past 14 years, a Sun Sentinel investigation found. Victoria was one of them. “If nothing else, if I can just have a voice and say, ‘You know what? I’m one of those people that you forgot about,’” she said. “I don’t want anything to happen like this to anybody else, to anybody else.’’
The Sun Sentinel shared its investigative findings with experts, who said Florida could do more to protect the public from repeat sex offenders. The newspaper’s eight-month investigation found that Florida had missed opportunities to lock up sex offenders under the Jimmy Ryce law, which allows the state to confine the most dangerous rapists and child molesters at a treatment center. In the 14 years the law has been in effect, Florida released at least 594 sex offenders who were later convicted of new sex crimes. Experts — professors who have researched sex offenders, psychologists who have evaluated them, and those who have worked at sex offender treatment centers — suggested specific actions the state can take.

He has brown eyes and black hair. His last known residence was in the village of Mangilao. Amber Alert: James Lee Dimaggio Suspected Of Killing Woman, Abducting Her Children
SAN DIEGO — The husband of a woman whose body was found in a burned house near the U.S.-Mexico border said Tuesday that he knew the man suspected of killing his wife and abducting one or both of their children. The disclosure came as a manhunt for James Lee DiMaggio, 40, expanded. A teenager was found hanged at her home after suffering months of bullying by anonymous ‘trolls’ on a notorious website. Hannah Smith, 14, was taunted on Ask.fm – linked to at least four teenage deaths in the past year – over her weight, the death of an uncle and an apparent propensity to self-harm. She had also been urged to ‘drink bleach’ by the anonymous tormentors, friends said. Amazon being used to share images of child abuse – and it’s increased 10 times in just two years

Authorities Search for Man Wanted on Child Endangerment, Drug Charges
MONONA, Iowa – Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a Monona man wanted on drug and child endangerment charges. In a press release Tuesday, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said they’re looking for Troy Laufenberg, wanted on four charges: child endangerment, possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The DCI said charges stem from an incident that happened July 15 at Laufenberg’s apartment on East Center Street in Monona. LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas – A man who skipped out on his court date has been captured in Michigan. Captain Ken Mitchell with the West Memphis Police Dept. says Stanley Carter was apprehended in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He says as news stories aired about him, Crittenden County Crime Stoppers began receiving tips on Carter’s possible whereabouts including a tip where he had fled to and where he was hiding.
