MADISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio – A Madison Township father is facing multiple charges after authorities said he cut his children off from the rest of the world and abused them.

According to the Lake County court clerk, 47-year-old Jeffrey A. York was indicted Friday of two counts of rape, five counts of gross sexual imposition, six counts of endangering children, one count of aggravated menacing and five counts of domestic violence.

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) – More than two dozen children in the Democratic Republic of the Congo are among the hundreds of victims of a recent wave of rapes in the nation’s conflict-torn east, the United Nations said on Friday.

All but one of the 28 confirmed child victims were girls, and one of the cases involved attempted rape, the office of U.N. special representative for children and armed conflict Radhika Coomaraswamy said in a statement.

The United Nations defines a minor as a child under 18 years old. The statement said the child victims were between the ages of 12 and 17.

A BRITISH paedophile was unmasked today as the mastermind behind a global child pornography ring that swapped as many as 100,000 indecent images over Facebook.

Ian Green, 45, used the social networking site to share vile photos with others in the US, Australia, and Canada.

A bill that seeks to increase prison sentences and extend parole terms in California for certain sex crimes against minors was passed in a unanimous vote by the state Senate on Tuesday.

“Chelsea’s Law” — named after 17-year-old Chelsea King, who was raped and murdered by a convicted sex offender this year — will go to the State Assembly next week for a vote. If it passes, it will go to the desk of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has already lent support to the legislation formally know as AB 1844.

SANTA ANA — Jurors convicted a 55-year old construction worker of the special circumstances murder of his adult daughter, who was tied up, shot and stuffed into a freezer.

A seven-woman, five-man jury deliberated for about two and a half hours before finding that Clarence Eugene Butterfield committed the first-degree murder of Rebekah Butterfield, 21, during the commission of torture and mayhem.

Police were called to Memorial Hospital Thursday, where doctors are treating a severely emaciated 7-month-old baby boy. Police arrested 22-year-old Trevor Williams. He’s facing a felony child abuse charge.

In an arrest affidavit, it says Williams says he was feeding the baby formula and cereal. But when police searched his home, they found no signs of either, and when they checked receipts of recent grocery store transactions, it appeared Williams wasn’t buying any, either.

10 Children Found in Shed

5 Had Been Reported Missing by Families

LORAIN, Ohio -Authorities have arrested a Lorain man after police find five children reported missing by their families in a shed in the man’s backyard. According to officials with the Lorain Police Department, Kenneth Freeman, 39, was arrested at his home around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police say when they arrived at Freeman’s home they found at least 10 children hiding inside the shed. Authorities say the children ranged in age from 12-17, and at least five had been reported missing by their families.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. — A man who has been trying for decades to take back his guilty plea in a notorious child molestation case won a huge moral victory Monday when a federal appeals court encouraged prosecutors to reopen their investigation.

Although the judges on the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals denied Jesse Friedman’s request to withdraw his plea, saying there was no legal basis to allow that, the panel criticized interrogation techniques by investigators in the 1988 case and actions by prosecutors and the trial judge.
