Toddler Dead In Murder-Suicide

FOUNTAIN, CO — The deaths of a man and toddler found inside a home following a six-hour standoff in Colorado are being investigated as a murder-suicide and a woman wounded while trying to escape was fighting for her life Tuesday, authorities said. Officers found the bodies Monday night in the home in Fountain, just south of Colorado Springs, after trying unsuccessfully to contact the man. Fountain Police Chief Todd Evans said the house had been doused with gasoline, according to The Gazette.

Mother of Maine Mystery Boy Confesses to Killing Son

CONCORD, MA — A Texas woman has reportedly confessed to the death of a young boy found dumped on a dirt road in Maine over the weekend, authorities said. Julianne McCrery admitted leaving her 6-year-old son Camden Pierce Hughes under a blanket on a deserted road in South Berwick near the New Hampshire border. McCrery told police she accidentally gave her son too much cough syrup and he died.

Maine Police Flooded With Tips In Mystery Boy’s Death

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine– Maine State Police said they’ve received about 60 tips following the release of a computer-generated photo of a boy whose body was found over the weekend. A police spokesman told reporters at a news conference Monday that tips are coming in from Maine, New Hampshire and as far away as Ohio.

Police have suspect in missing girl Skyler Kauffman's death

TELFORD, Pa. – Skyler Kauffman, the 9-year-old girl who was brutally assaulted and killed before being stuffed into a trash bin near her suburban Philadelphia apartment, is being laid to rest today. Funeral services for Kauffman were scheduled for Monday morning in Telford. A memorial ceremony was held for the girl Sunday night. Hundreds lined up outside a Telford funeral home to say their goodbyes.

PA–The alleged crimes, filling 14 single-spaced pages, are a study in sexual depravity and child abuse. To prosecutor Jennifer Schorn, the charges filed Friday against unemployed Bucks County tattoo artist Walter Meyerle amount to “one of the largest child-abuse cases I’ve seen by one individual.”

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. — A Lake Elsinore woman has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after being convicted of torture and child abuse for holding her 2-year-old daughter’s legs under scalding water as punishment. Diana Vicky Estrada, 24, claimed the burns on her daughter’s legs were an accident, but prosecutors alleged the injuries were the result of a potty-training outburst.

Highland Park couple charged with murder, torture, abuse in death of 4-year-old nephew

The aunt and uncle of a 4-year-old Highland Park boy who starved to death were arraigned today on chargers of murder, torture and child abuse. According to reports, Matilda Jane Brown Gardner, 30, and her husband, Randy Steven Gardner, 32, have been charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, first-degree child abuse and first-degree torture in the death of their nephew, Robert Byrd.

Infant’s Body Found In Bag

A Missouri woman has been arrested following  the discovery of an infant’s body inside a duffel bag floating in a small pond. A man and his girlfriend spotted and retrieved the bag Sunday while walking on private property in central Missouri’s Randolph County. Sheriff Mark Nichols tells KMZU-FM the investigation led Monday to the arrest of a 25-year-old woman from Moberly.

Riley Choate, father of 13-year-old boy found buried in concrete, charged in son’s death

The father of a 13-year-old Indiana boy found buried in a shallow grave was charged in his son’s death Thursday after he admitted burying him there. Riley Choate told police he wrapped his son, Christian Choate, in a blanket, placed a Bible on him and buried him under concrete in a mobile park home in Gary, Ind., in April 2009, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Choate, 28, was charged with removal of a body from a death scene, failing to notify authorities of a death and failure to report a body to authorities.

5-year-old Twins, Mother, Father Dead After Apparent Murder-Suicide

The father and suspected shooter was identified as Salvador Acevedo.

EAST LOS ANGELES– Sheriffs Homicide Bureau are investigating a murder-suicide which occurred late Saturday that left twin children, their mother and father dead. According a report written by Deputy Lillian Peck, the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Salvador Acevedo, and his girlfriend, identified as 33-year-old Iris Oseguera, reportedly engaged in a domestic dispute while in Acevedo’s vehicle with their 5-year-old twins and three adolescent children. Acevedo shot Oseguera and the twins before dropping the adolescent children off at a relative’s home.

KISSIMMEE, FL — A 21-year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday to killing his girlfriend’s son in 2009. Jonathan Alicea pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 30 years in prison. “Brutal crimes perpetrated upon innocent child victims are impossible to understand,” Kissimmee Police Chief Fran Iwanski said in a prepared statement after the sentencing. “We are somewhat relieved that the offender made the decision to admit his guilt and accept the consequences for his actions.”

VIRGINIA–The girl, aged between six and seven, was so hungry that when found her she was eating the flaky skin of her forehead. She was covered in bed sores and her own faeces and is feared to have been kept in a cage for months. Brian and Shannon Gore face first degree murder charges stemming from the grisly find. Police made the startling discovery of the remains of a second child when they dug under a trailer home. They have already been charged with the attempted murder of their daughter who was found barely alive in a darkened room.

BREAKING NEWS: Deputies find body of young child buried near home of couple accused of child abuse

GLOUCESTER — It looked like a fairly tranquil scene on a sunny Friday afternoon — a blue-and-white single-wide mobile home with an American flag on the porch. The grass surrounding it was neatly trimmed with pink spring flowers in bloom. But inside the residence at Waterview Mobile Home Park on Thursday night, the Gloucester Sheriff’s Department discovered a 5- to 6-year-old girl imprisoned in a crib that had been modified to form a cage. The girl was “extremely malnourished and suffering from severe starvation,” according to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office. She was “covered in feces and in the nude.” A piece of wood kept the girl in her prison, according to a news release.
