Two Penn State officials surrendered Monday on charges that they failed to report suspected child-sexual abuse by a former coach and committed perjury in their related grand jury testimony. Senior Vice President Gary Schultz and Athletic Director Tim Curley both stepped down from their posts late Sunday, one day after the charges were announced.
They are accused of failing to alert police to complaints that former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky had sexually abused boys.

MONROVIA, CA– Police have released the sketch of a man they believe tried to abduct a 6-year-old boy from his home in Monrovia. It happened around 4:10 p.m. Friday in the 2500 block of Graydon Avenue. Police say the boy was playing in the backyard of his home when a man approached him.

SANTA ANA, CA — A 20-year-old man was found guilty Thursday of second-degree murder and child abuse causing the death of his girlfriend’s 9-month-old son, Isaiah Prim-Ortiz. Alexander Barnes was 18 when he was babysitting Isaiah for the first time on October 6, 2009. Prosecutors say Barnes became angry because the baby wouldn’t stop crying. They contend he fractured the baby’s skull, killing him.

VENTURA, CA — A Ventura man was arrested Sunday after stabbing his son with a sword, police said. Ventura Police received a call of a dispute around 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of Zuni Court. When officers arrived, they found 18-year-old Jose Gonzalez bleeding from a stab wound to the hand.

A CHILD rapist was disembowelled, stabbed in the eye and had his throat slit in a savage killing by two fellow lags at Ian Huntley’s jail.

Evil Mitchell Harrison, 23, was found dead in his cell at high-security HMP Frankland, Durham. Sources said his killers rammed a home-made knife into his stomach. He was killed on Saturday morning after inmates allegedly rumbled a plot he had hatched to “glass” prison officers.

Baylee Stenman’s Alleged Killer Arrested in Michigan

Another alleged child killer is off the streets tonight. Leo Ackley was arrested yesterday on murder and first degree child abuse charges for the death of 3-year-old Baylee Stenman. She was pronounced dead on August 1 at a Kalamazoo hospital. Ackley has been on the run since. Good thing his luck ran out. Maybe now little Baylee’s death can be avenged.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg police say they have arrested man who was keeping more than 100,000 child pornography images on his computer. Detectives said they arrested 43-year-old Jeffrey Todd Lobdell on Tuesday morning after serving a search warrant at his apartment and seizing the computer.

Mother charged with aggravated child abuse after stabbing daughter

Chattanooga Police have charged Donna Alicia Ray with aggravated child abuse after she allegedly stabbed her 15-year-old daughter in the back following an argument Sunday night. According to police, Ray confronted her daughter after arriving home at 1701 Oak St. when she smelled smoke in the house and “assumed that her daughter had been doing something wrong.”

Authorities believe they have cracked a case involving the horrific sexual assault of an 11-month-old boy in a Bakersfield hotel room by piecing together a long string of evidence found on a videotape of the assault. HAGERSTOWN — A Hagerstown man convicted this summer of assaulting a blind infant was sentenced Monday in Washington County Circuit Court to 10 years in state prison. Clyde Eugene Gatrell III, 21, formerly of 1056-C Noland Drive, was found guilty of second-degree child abuse and two counts of second-degree assault following a June 30 bench trial before Circuit Judge Donald E. Beachley, who announced his verdict July 19.
