D’Andre Lane Charged with First Degree Murder in Missing Girl Case

DETROIT – D’Andre Lane, the father of a two-year-old Detroit girl who has been missing since early December, has been charged with first-degree murder and child abuse. DETROIT — Detroit police are searching for a 2-year-old girl who has been missing since her father was carjacked and the thief drove away with her strapped into a seat. Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee says police are working with FBI agents to find Bianca Jones. Her father reported being carjacked at gunpoint about 9:45 a.m. Friday in the New Center area of Detroit. Campaign to catch evil warlord Kony goes viral

A video created to raise awareness about vile militia leader Joseph Kony has now racked up more than 26million views since being posted on YouTube on March 5, and is being backed by a host of celebrities. Kony is the leader of Ugandan military group the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and is wanted for committing crimes against humanity including rape, abduction and murder. For 26 years his rebel group has systematically kidnapped more than 30,000 African children — forcing girls to become sex slaves, brainwashing boys into becoming child soldiers and brutally killing those who don’t comply. Jessica Funk-Haslam’s Body Found In Park Baseball Dugout

ROSEMONT, CA – Homicide detectives are Investigating the death of a girl whose body was discovered at a community park. A woman looking for recyclables made the gruesome discovery Tuesday morning in a dugout area of a baseball field at the park. Sacramento County Sheriff’s department officials have confirmed that the girl, identified as 13-year-old Jessica Funk-Haslam, was the victim of homicide. READ MORE HERE

COPPERAS COVE – A father from Central Texas has received two life sentences after he sexually assaulted his 5-month old daughter, which led to her death. Joseph Edward Allsop was originally charged with Capital Murder for the crime that took place back in 2005. Five month old Jade Allsop was found dead in a Copperas Cove apartment, and the father was suspected in the death. Says He ‘Wouldn’t Go Back To Sleep’

Nearly four months after 13-month old Tyler Dasher was found dead, bruised and beaten outside a Missouri cemetery, a grand jury has found probable cause to send his mother to trial for his murder. Shelby Dasher, 20, faces a second-degree murder charge on top of child abuse in beating her toddler to death before faking his abduction from her home in Afton last November. An attorney for Dasher pleaded not guilty to the charges on her behalf while waving her client’s arraignment. After the toddler’s body was discovered on November 15, Dasher admitted to police of repeatedly striking her son in rage because he ‘wouldn’t lay down, wouldn’t go back to sleep.’  READ MORE HERE

A Johnson County judge had warned Amanda Smith on Thursday that her say in her son’s custody hinged on better cooperation with authorities. The judge, Mark Loyd, set a hearing March 14 to determine whether 3-year-old Jacob Smith would continue to live with his grandmother — as Amanda Smith wanted — or go to live with his father. Now, that hearing will not happen. Smith, 33, Trafalgar, is believed to have drowned Jacob on Monday in her apartment. Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox said the boy’s body appeared to have been carefully laid on a bed, his head on a pillow, by the time emergency responders arrived.  READ MORE HERE

Five Students SHOT During High School Shooting

Five students have been injured in a shooting this morning at Chardon High School. According to the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, a suspect has been arrested. Scott Wilson of the FBI said they believe there was only one shooter, but the incident remains under investigation. Initial reports were that four students were shot. But at a news conference about 10:30 a.m., officials said there was a fifth victim. The youth who was arrested had fled the high school building, but was caught on Woodin Road in Chardon Township, a law officer said. The boy is being processed at the sheriff’s office, according to reports about 9 a.m. Both the sheriff’s office and Wilson declined to provide further detail of the events that unfolded in the high school cafeteria about 7:45 a.m.  READ MORE HERE

New Haven stepmom guilty in toddler’s death

Mount Clemens— A New Haven woman was found guilty Monday of fatally beating and sexually assaulting her toddler stepdaughter in November 2010. A jury convicted Renee Marie King, 30, of first-degree felony murder, child abuse and criminal sexual conduct in the Nov. 20, 2010, death of 2-year-old Lily Furneaux-Wolfenbarger. A man who killed his autistic son told his children that people were coming to ‘cut them up and eat them’ before the deadly attack. William De Jesus stabbed himself and the rest of his family hours after breaking in to an elderly man’s motor home and shooting him dead. His wife has now been forbidden from seeing the couple’s surviving seven-year-old son after admitting she helped De Jesus sexually abuse the boy and his brother. 11 Children, Some Tied to Beds, Removed From Sex Offender’s Home

DAYTON, Texas — Eleven children, some of whom were found tied to their beds, have been removed from the home of a registered sex offender. In all, authorities say 10 adults and 11 children, ranging in age from 5 months to 11-years-old, were living in the 1,700-square-foot home outside Houston.
