Deputies probe ‘very violent’ scene in Rancho Cordova where Mom, and 2 kids, were brutally murdered

So disturbing was the scene on De Soto Way on Tuesday afternoon that chaplains were called in to counsel the deputies who first arrived. On the quiet Rancho Cordova street, a young mother and two of her children, ages 3 & 4, had been found brutally slain, their bodies discovered, authorities say, when the children’s father arrived home at the family’s duplex. Still alive and apparently unharmed was the couple’s youngest child, a 6-month-old baby boy, found in a back room after deputies followed sounds of his cries. READ MORE HERE

Alina Bukhantsov’s brother-in-law, 19-year-old Grigoriy Bukhantsov, is accused in the crime. He was arrested early this morning on suspicion of three counts of murder, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department. All three of the victims had injuries “consistent with sharp force trauma,” said sheriff’s Sgt. Jason Ramos. They were found dead in their De Soto Way duplex about 3:30 p.m. by the husband of the woman, who is also the father of the children. It is his brother who is the suspect in the brutal killings.

Man accused in death of girlfriend’s 4-month-old baby

BRANDON TOWNSHIP, MI – Oakland County Medical Examiner officials say the death of a 4-month-old Brandon Township boy was caused by blunt-force trauma and has been ruled a homicide. County sheriff officials say in a release Friday that Brandon Township fire personnel found the unresponsive infant lying on the living room floor about 2:30 p.m. Thursday. 17-YO High School Student Arrested in Murder of Jessica Ridgeway

WESTMINSTER, Colo. — A high school student has been arrested in the abduction and murder of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway. Austin R. Sigg, 17, will be tried as an adult, Jefferson County District Attorney Pam Russell said Wednesday. Charges probably will be filed on Monday, Russell said. Sigg, who was arrested Tuesday night, will likely face murder and kidnapping charges in death of Ridgeway.  READ MORE HERE

HUDSON, Mich. — An Ypsilanti, Mich., man has been charged with first-degree child abuse stemming from injuries to a 1-year-old Hudson boy, who later died at Toledo Children’s Hospital. The child, LeRoy Beals, was seriously injured about 8:45 p.m. Monday at his Division Street home where his mother’s boyfriend, Timothy Martin, 25, was babysitting. As he confessed to police, Ali-Mohamed Mohamud seemed as “calm as could be” admitting he killed his 10-year-old stepson, Abdifatah, said Detective Sgt. James Lonergan in court Tuesday. “He was very calm, well spoken, and responsive to questions,” Lonergan said of Mohamud’s demeanor during police questioning. Abdi, as he was called by family and friends, had already climbed out of a window and run away from home, only to be caught by Mohamud with the help of a neighbor. More than 100 New Yorkers are the list, released by order of the Oregon Supreme Court

PORTLAND, OR — More than 20,000 confidential Boy Scout documents were released Thursday identifying more than 1,000 leaders and volunteers banned from the group after being accused of sexual or inappropriate conduct with boys. The public release of the Scouts’ 1,247 “ineligible volunteer files” from 1965 to 1985 do not contain the identities of the boy victims and witnesses. The national files are being distributed with the approval of the Oregon Supreme Court by a law firm that won an $18.5 million judgment in 2010 against the Boy Scouts in a case where a Scoutmaster sexually abused a boy.  READ MORE HERE

OTTAWA (Oct 17, 2012): Canadian police have arrested 21 alleged online child predators and rescued a sexually abused boy, officials said Wednesday. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police partnered with half a dozen police forces in Canada’s western prairies to identify suspects who possessed and distributed child abuse images across peer-to-peer file sharing networks. “With their activities, obviously they are using common file-sharing networks and common technology and common programs to chat and look for kids who possibly networked with other offenders but none of the individuals (arrested) were directly related (to each other),” a police spokesman told a nationally televised news conference.  READ MORE HERE

A pedophile who terrorized his victims with Nazi horror stories and snarling dogs before abusing them is beginning a third jail term.  Colin Cooper, 60, abused 17 victims during a 40-year terror campaign against children as young as five.  He would read youngsters Adolf Hitler themed horror stories to scare them into submitting to his sexual demands and then used his two snarling German Shepherd dogs to stop them fleeing his Manchester house. During his reign of terror dating back to the 1970s, Cooper became ‘utterly obsessed’ with abusing children, ordering some victims to eat raw flesh from a pig’s head he kept at his house.  READ MORE HERE

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – A 10-year-old boy shot his sister and then turned the gun on himself, investigators said. Walker County sheriff’s deputies said the shooting happened on Duke Road near Highway 30 late Thursday. Detectives said Coby Tucker walked into his 15-year-old sister’s room and opened fire. Ashley Tucker was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition and was in good condition on Friday afternoon. Body of 17-month-old Justin Kowalczik found buried in Long Island backyard

Buried beneath a Long Island backyard where neighborhood kids played and parents sipped drinks was a deep, dark secret — the body of a 17-month-old boy. State police detectives unearthed the remains of tiny Justin Kowalczik, who was discarded more than two years ago behind the suburban home where his mother quietly raised his two half-siblings, cops said Saturday. “I could tell she was hiding something,” said Patricia Ruane, the baby-sitter for Heather Kowalczik’s surviving kids. “Something was off. Something was very off with that woman.” No arrests were made after the body was dug up from the far right corner of the Farmingdale backyard — but police quickly identified the mom’s boyfriend as a person of interest.
