Lansing man charged with murder, 1st-degree child abuse
LANSING, MI — A 37-year-old Lansing man was charged Monday for allegedly abusing his infant daughter to the point that she died from internal injuries. Appearing via closed-circuit TV, John Sanders was arraigned before Lansing District Judge Louise Alderson on charges of open murder and 1st-degree child abuse. Florida mother hospitalized after killing her 6-mo son in murder-suicide bid she warned about on Facebook
A 20-year-old Florida woman is in a critical condition in hospital after turning a gun on herself moments after shooting dead her six-month-old baby. Melanie Reyes, of Ocola, is thought to have told a relative she was going to attempt the murder-suicide on Facebook, according to The Orlando Sentinel. But when they alerted local police it was already too late. NEWTOWN, Conn. – An official with knowledge of a shooting at a Connecticut elementary school says 28 people are dead, including 20 children. The one known shooter was 24, carrying four weapons and wearing black clothing and a bullet proof vest. He is dead, authorities told ABC News. Police continue to investigate if there was a second shooter involved. CBS reports that a student’s father was the shooter.
More than two dozen people, mostly elementary school children, were shot and killed at a Newtown, Conn., elementary school this morning, federal and state sources tell ABC News. The massacre involved two gunmen and prompted the town of Newtown to lock down all of its schools and draw SWAT teams to the school, authorities said today. Tumlin Found Guilty Of Several Charges In Death Of His Young Son; Faces “Very Lengthy” Prison Sentence
A Criminal Court jury on Thursday afternoon convicted Reginald Tumlin of criminally negligent homicide, aggravated child neglect and two counts of child abuse. He avoided a life sentence for a conviction of felony murder, but he still is facing extensive prison time at a later sentencing hearing. Tumlin has numerous prior felony convictions. Suspect dead after killing spree on California Indian reservation
PORTERVILLE, Calif. – Authorities in California have confirmed a fifth death in a shooting of tribal members on an Indian reservation. Tulare County sheriff’s spokeswoman Chris Douglass says Sunday that an 8-year-old girl is among four family members killed by her father. She was identified as Alyssa Celaya.
