Grandparents came home to find their two grandsons dead. Half brothers, 12 -year old Austin Wiseman and 9-year old Blake Campbel,l were found shot to death at their grandparents home in Jackson, Ohio; they appear to have been alone in the house when they were killed. A ‘monster’ mother whose toddler died after she subjected him to months of terrifying violent abuse has been jailed for at least 18 years today. Two-year-old Keanu Williams, who was known to police and children’s services, was beaten to death by Rebecca Shuttleworth, who was given a life sentence this afternoon. A Trumbull County boy allegedly killed by his mother’s live-in boyfriend was laid to rest Friday. Friends and family came to Hall Funeral Home in Warren to say their final goodbyes to 4- year- old Nicholas Partin. Prosecutors allege that Partin was punched in the stomach by Scott Walker, 33. Jacksonville, Florida ~ Just over an hour after a 56-year-old sex offender seen leaving a Northside Walmart Friday night with an 8-year-old girl was arrested Saturday morning, police say the girl’s body was found at a Northside church. Police say Donald Smith left the Walmart on Lem Turner Road with Cherish Perrywinkle. He was taken into custody in a traffic stop about 9 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 95, but the girl was not with him. About 10:15 a.m., an emotional Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office spokesman announced the victim’s body was found at a church on Broward Road. “We located the body of Cherish Perrywinkle,” Officer Shannon Hartley said. “A very difficult time, obviously, for everyone involved.” READ MORE HERE
NOTE: Williams declined to answer reporters’ questions about how Cherish died or what Smith did in the hours between his disappearance with the girl and his arrest, saying that the investigation remains open.
INFO ON SMITH:
Smith has been a registered sex offender since a 1993 conviction in Duval County for attempted kidnapping and selling obscene materials. He has been arrested several times since then, most recently in 2009 on a charge of child abuse after making obscene phone calls to a 10-year-old girl, making verbal threats, and impersonating a social worker with the Florida Department of Children and Families who claimed to be investigating the girl’s family. Smith pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges in that case and was released from jail May 31.

COMPTON, California — A teen convicted in the shooting death of a one-year-old boy who was sleeping in his father’s arms was sentenced to 90 years to life in prison Friday. Donald Dokins, 16, was found guilty of murdering Angel Cortez in Watts on June 4, 2012. Jurors deliberated for only an hour and a half in April before convicting the teen of murder and attempted murder, along with a gang enhancement. A Glens Falls man who dumped hot sauce down the throat of his girlfriend’s 5-year-old son and inflicted injuries to the boy that were akin to being dropped from a second story window was convicted Tuesday of second-degree murder, Warren County District Attorney Kate Hogan said. “This child suffered atrocities no child should suffer,” said Hogan, who prosecuted the case. RICHLAND, Washington — The 9-month-old baby found dead in her crib last week suffered severe vaginal trauma, according to the autopsy. The child’s mother found Serenity Reedy dead in her crib Friday morning. The mother’s boyfriend, 36-year-old Jose Aguilar, was nowhere to be found. He’s suspected of the baby’s death. Fayettville, North Carolina — A Cumberland County jury deliberated less than 40 minutes Wednesday before deciding that Mario Andrette McNeill should die for the November 2009 death of 5-year-old Shaniya Davis. The eight-man, four-woman jury last week convicted McNeill, 32, of first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, sexual offense of a child, indecent liberties with a child, human trafficking and sexual servitude in connection with her death. Police: Baby scalped during parents’ fightAuthorities said a man is being held in the Greene County Jail accused of ripping a baby’s scalp off while fighting with the mother. Police said Kodi Weatherspoon assaulted the woman while she was holding their one-month-old child in their Duncan Drive apartment June 5. Weatherspoon called for help after allegedly hurting the baby and can be heard on the 911 call saying “I’m sorry.” When officers arrived, the mother was found with a facial laceration and was bleeding. She was holding the child, and officers could see his scalp was missing. “The injury provided me with the observation of what appeared to be bone to the head,” the reporting officer wrote in the police report. A Utah man who spoke about his ‘temper’ on Facebook was found dead Sunday night with his 2-year-old son in an apparent murder-suicide. Bryson Drew, 21, was found with a single gunshot wound to the head in the basement of a Spanish Fork, Utah, home by his sister at 8:40 p.m. Sunday, according to KSL. Along with a suicide note, police found Drew’s son Chanse in a bedroom with blunt force trauma injuries. A mother committed an unimaginable crime. Kimberlynn Bolanos, 21, is facing a first-degree murder charge after she brutally stabbed her 5-month-old son Issac to death. Bolanos is currently in jail held with no bond after police had to break down a hotel bathroom door with an axe to get to her and the infant she murdered. She had been staying at a hotel with Issac. STARKE, Fla. – A convicted child molester condemned for the 1990 rape and murder of a 10-year-old Florida girl has been executed at the Florida State Prison. Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s office said 56-year-old inmate Elmer Carroll was pronounced dead at 6:12 p.m. Wednesday at the prison in Starke. Carroll had been convicted of first-degree murder and sexual battery in the rape and strangling death of Christine McGowan. Boy, 8, was ‘tortured and murdered by his own mother and her boyfriend’ after six investigations by social workers went unnoticedAn eight-year-old boy who authorities say died after being beaten had remained in the house where the alleged abuse occurred despite six investigations by social workers during the past decade, a newspaper said. The boy, Matthew Tarto, had been dead for several days before his father Mark Tarto died. Autopsy results revealed that both died from gunshot wounds to the head.
