Cleveland (CNN) — When her chance came, kidnapping victim Michelle Knight lit into Ariel Castro, the man who held her captive and raped her in his Cleveland home for a decade. “You took 11 years of my life away,” she said. “I spent 11 years in hell. Now, your hell is just beginning.” In handing down a sentence of life without parole plus 1,000 years in prison, Judge Michael Russo told the kidnapper there was no place in the world for his brand of criminal. “You don’t deserve to be out in our community,” Russo told the defendant. “You’re too dangerous.” READ MORE HERE
In his first television interview, Ariel Castro’s son said that his dad belongs in prison for the rest of his life and he doesn’t plan on ever visiting him.
When an judge denied a request for Castro to visit the 6-year-old girl he fathered with one of the women he kidnapped and raped, the reason seemed pretty clear.
When the police arrived at Castro’s house, it was almost peaceful. As if nobody else was there. And then they heard the sound of scurrying feet upstairs.
Ariel Castro’s brothers say he’s “a monster” who should rot in jail and they “want the world to know” they had no idea their brother was holding women captive.
The amazing escape of three Cleveland women exploded into the media amid sordid back stories of their captivity and gave life yet again to one woman’s own dark memories of captivity and despair.
In trying to understand the mind of a man like Ariel Castro, two things are important to keep in mind: (1) in human psychology, nothing occurs in a vacuum; and (2) the psychological profile that is emerging of this man is not rare.
When Amanda Berry screamed for help through a crack in the front door of the house where she was being held, she set in motion an end to roughly a decade of captivity for herself and two other women.
Who is Ariel Castro? His Cleveland neighbors are trying to come with grips with the two personas — the first, they thought they knew, the other, the one that authorities describe.

FBI reveals teen sex slaves worked Super Bowl after biggest child prostitution bust EVER nets 150 pimps and saves 105 victims
Following Monday’s record-breaking child prostitution sweep, the FBI revealed that earlier stings had targeted huge sporting events and major tourist attractions. Ronald Hosko, assistant director of the agency’s criminal investigative division, said that teen sex slaves had also been recovered at occasions such as NCAA Final Four and the Super Bowl. In the 1990s, gangs took control of street prostitution across America; that forced pimps to move girls into sporting events where security existed, said Dr. Lois Lee. Lee is founder and president of Children of the Night, a nonprofit group that has rescued 10,000 children from prostitution since 1979. READ MORE HERE
