A sweeping child pornography investigation has led to the rescue of 386 young children around the world and the arrest of 348 people, among them nearly 80 American nationals. Canadian police described the Project Spade operation as one of the largest child porn busts they’ve ever seen. ‘It is alleged that officers seized hundreds of thousands of videos detailing horrific sexual acts against very young children, some of the worst that they have ever viewed,’ Toronto Inspector Joanna Beaven-Desjardins said. Boy, 11, also charged in death of infant

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An 11 year old is now charged with the abuse that led to his 7-month-old brother’s death. The infant’s mother, Wendy Latwann Johnson, was charged earlier this week in Camden Johnson’s death. CMPD responded to the home on Saturday on a report of an unresponsive baby. Seven-month-old Camden was taken to Carolinas Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. Relatives say the 11 year old confessed to abusing his brother, and doing it out of jealousy, while his mother ran an errand Saturday and was gone from the house for about 45 minutes. 3 Students Shot: Police Search for Shooter

A school shooting has been reported at Brashear High School in Pittsburgh. Police are searching for a gunman who shot three people near a Pittsburgh high school today. Three people were shot near Brashear High School in Pittsburgh this afternoon, according to ABC News affiliate WTAE. No one is in custody and there is a search for the shooter, according to the Pittsburgh mayor’s office. Oxford, MS — News Channel 3 has confirmed a woman and her son have been murdered in Oxford, MS. Police say Dr. Carol Lavett Gary and her 12-year-old son Patrick Earl Gary, Jr. were found dead apparently from gunshot wounds. Dr. Gary was principal at Davidson Elementary School in Water Valley, MS. Both were found dead in their home in the South Oaks subdivision in the 200 block of County Road 301. Oxford police say they are questioning several people including some family members, but there are no suspects. JACKSON, Mississippi — A second suspect was arrested and charged in the abduction and killing of a Mississippi couple and their 7-year-old son, authorities said Thursday. Cedric D. A Colorado artist has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping an eight-year-old girl from her bedroom in Aurora. John Stanley Snorsky, 26, was arrested on Tuesday morning following a separate incident of felony theft. Following more than 200 tips, the Aurora Police Department arrived at probable cause to charge him with the kidnapping Friday. He has been charged with first and second degree burglary and second degree kidnapping and is being held on $500,000 bond, police said at a press conference today. Bryan Eugene Sweatt, 27, has been named as the deceased gunman and hostage-taker behind a horrific mass murder-suicide in Greenwood, South Carolina, that left two children and four adults dead. Police responded to a 911 call at 5:54 p.m. on Tuesday evening 2007 Callison Highway. A man called cops and said he was contemplating hurting himself. Cops arrived, followed by a SWAT team. According to the sheriff, wounds to the victims were as follows:

• Richard Fields, 51: 2 gunshot wounds to upper body

• Melissa Fields, 49: 3 gunshot wounds

• Chandra Marie Fields, 26: 1 gunshot to head

• Tariq Robinson, 11: 1 gunshot wound to head

• William Robinson, 9: 2 gunshot wounds to head

• Suspect, 27: 1 self-inflicted wound to the head

Chandra and Sweatt were found together in the den. The grandparents were in another room. And the boys were together in a third room.

A rabbi accused of sexually abusing boys in New York was arrested Tuesday afternoon at a Jewish community center in Beverly Hills, California. Menachem Tewel, 30, also known as Mendel Tevel, was handcuffed and led away from the JEM Community Center at 9930 S. Santa Monica Boulevard, at around 1.30pm, where he was working a youth worker. He is suspected of abusing four boys between 1995 and 2004 on two counts of criminal sexual acts and one count of sexual abuse. Mia Farrow’s brother sentenced to 25 years in jail for sexually abusing two young boys

Mia Farrow’s brother was sentenced today to 25 years in prison for the sexual abuse of two young boys over an eight-year period. Businessman John Villiers-Farrow pleaded guilty to two counts of child abuse after he was handed down 39 charges for the molestation of the boys who were his neighbors in Maryland in 2002. He pleaded guilty in July so he could get a lighter sentence but has always asserted his innocence. His sentence was suspended for 15 years, which means Villiers-Farrow will spend at least the next ten years in jail. The death of a 5-year-old Sun Prairie boy in a suspected case of child abuse has been ruled a homicide. The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the child, who died Thursday, as Brayden Turnbill. Brayden’s death was ruled a homicide after an autopsy Friday. The Medical Examiner’s Office said additional examinations would continue into next week. “Our police department, along with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, continues to investigate this incident and continues to place extensive resources into the investigation,” Sun Prairie Assistant Police Chief Scott Faust said Friday. Body of newborn baby girl found found dead on conveyor belt at recycling plant

An investigation has been launched after the body of a baby girl was found on a conveyor belt at a recycling plant, according to reports. The youngster’s corpse was discovered by a worker who was sorting recycled cans and plastic at the site. She was wrapped in a blanket when she was found at Burtec Waste Industries near Los Angeles, Sky News reports. The baby’s age has not yet been confirmed but she is believed to have been a newborn.
