CONVICTED RAPIST AND ATTEMPTED MURDER SUSPECT KEVIN BRIGGS WANTED FOR ESCAPE

Accused rapist and attempted murder suspect Kevin Briggs escaped from the Justice Center in Bozeman, Montana last weekend and is believed to be in Seattle where he planned on staying in homeless shelters. Biggs was convicted of raping a 14 year old girl, but was still allowed to enroll in Montana State University. He was detained after a sexual assault on campus, but walked out of the Law & Justice Center while still wearing handcuffs and leg shackles.

Police say he should be considered ‘armed and dangerous’. Briggs is 28 years old, 5’5?, medium build, wearing a black or gray hooded coat with semi-white stripes, green pants, black shoes, ball cap, aviator sunglasses. Detectives say he uses the fake names, ‘Amiee Macintire’ and ‘James Zenon Meismer’. Six-day-old Kayden Powell found alive at Iowa gas station

Six-day-old Kayden Powell has been found alive in West Branch, Iowa. Kayden was taken from his residence in the early morning hours on Thursday, February 6th. But at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Friday, a police chief in West Branch, Iowa was conducting a canvass of a gas station near Interstate 80. He apparently heard a baby’s cry and found Kayden in a tote bag swaddled in blankets just outside of the gas station. Despite the frigid temperatures, Kayden appears to be doing well. Nearly four years after the body of Ethan Stacy was found buried on a mountainside in Utah, the child’s stepfather — Nathan Sloop — admitted Tuesday that he played a role in the four-year-old’s death. Sloop, 35, pleaded guilty but mentally ill to aggravated murder for the 2010 death of Ethan Stacy, who was found near Powder Mountain in Weber Country with his face disfigured by hammer blows and his grave sprinkled with dog food. Sloop was immediately sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the murder and 1 to 15 years for aggravated assault by a prisoner for attacking a David County jail officer. A number of other charges were dismissed as part of a plea deal, which also spared him from the death penalty, according to The Salt Lake Tribune. Remains Of 55 Children Unearthed At Former Florida Reform School Site

TAMPA, Florida — The remains of 55 people have been unearthed from a graveyard at a former reform school with a history of abuse, researchers said Tuesday. University of South Florida researchers began excavating the graveyard at the now-closed Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys in September. The dig finished in December. Official records indicated 31 burials at the Marianna site, but researchers had estimated there would be about 50 graves. All the bodies found were interred in coffins either made at the school or bought from manufacturers, said Erin Kimmerle, a forensic anthropologist leading the university’s investigation. Some were found under roads or overgrown trees, well away from the white, metal crosses marking the 31 officially recorded graves. Now, researchers will try to identify the remains and determine the causes of death. The bodies were buried sometime between the late 1920s and early 1950s, researchers said. READ MORE HERE

Hunt for mother who fled home leaving her four-year-old daughter dead in bed

UPDATE: This couple has been apprehended!! Police in Northern California say the mother of a 3-year-old girl who was found dead in her bed and the mother’s boyfriend are wanted for questioning in a case that has been classified as a homicide. Napa Police Department Lt. Debbie Peecook said officers have unable to find 23-year-old Sara Krueger and her boyfriend, 26-year-old Scott Warner, since the body of Krueger’s daughter was discovered on Saturday afternoon. Peecook says the girl, whom police have not named, showed signs of having been sexually assaulted and blunt force trauma. Pulaski police discovered the body of an infant Thursday night in Pulaski County after a daylong search for a 5-month-old boy. The search began after a man was arrested in Pulaski on Thursday morning on a child abuse charge. On Wednesday, an arrest warrant was issued for Howard Samuel Cole, 31, on a charge of child abuse after police received information that an infant had been abused by his father on Sunday morning, authorities have said. A New York man charged with murder in the stabbing deaths of his wife and their two toddlers only killed the children because he didn’t have car seats to take the pair with him. Miguel Mejia-Ramos, 29, was placed on suicide watch after being arraigned Friday. Prosecutors say he told investigators he killed his children because he didn’t have car seats to take them on the lam. A Canberra serial child molester has been sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in jail for the public rape of a three-year-old girl and the racially motivated bashing of his neighbor. In September 2013, Shane Williams, 40, from Campbell was making his way to a police station for his annual sex offender check-in when he decided to stop at the Belconnen Library to use the toilets. He was browsing the books inside when a three-year-old girl wandered over to him and said hello. Williams encouraged her to sit on the floor with him and removed both her pants and his own trousers, before sexually assaulting her. A 3-year-old Florida boy is dead after enduring horrific torture including having been burned, beaten and thrown across a room – and, according to authorities, the boy’s 21-year-old mother is to blame.  Ghanson Debrosse was rushed to the Jackson North Medical Center about 3:30 am on Tuesday after his mother, Fafane Caze, called 9-1-1 to report that he wasn’t breathing. At the hospital, doctors determined that the 3-year-old boy had been dead for several hours. Police identify 2 killed in Maryland shooting

Columbia, Maryland – Police have identified the two retail employees killed in a shooting at a Maryland mall. The Howard County Police said late Saturday that the victims were 21-year-old Brianna Benlolo of College Park, Md., and 25-year-old Tyler Johnson of Ellicott City, Md. The gunman also died. Both worked at Zumiez, which sold skate apparel and accessories. Police say the attack took place outside Zumiez on the upper level of the Mall in Columbia, a suburb of both Baltimore and Washington.

DETROIT – A Detroit man and his girlfriend are in police custody after the man’s 16-month-old nephew died from hyperthermia and burns in their Keating Street home. The toddler’s 22-year-old uncle and the woman were babysitting the boy while his mother attended a program to assist her in getting a job. Purdue shooting suspect surrenders after allegedly killing fellow student

(CNN) — A gunman shot and killed another man Tuesday inside Purdue University’s electrical engineering building, spurring worried students to scramble into the bitter cold outside for safety. The Indiana school’s police chief said that the suspect appeared to have had just one target in mind. Cape Town – Burnt and bruised, a 9-year-old child left to die after she was raped said her assailant laughed as he set her alight. On Sunday afternoon, her family found her, still alive, huddled on top of a pile rocks, in the bush beside the R300. She had been on her way to her father’s house when she disappeared at about 8pm on Saturday. “She was moving, still able to talk. She could tell us that she recognized the face of the man who raped her and that he laughed when he lit her, saying, ‘You won’t be able to tell anyone it was me,’” the child’s aunt said.
