MINNEAPOLIS – A 17-year-old Minneapolis boy is charged with second-degree murder in what prosecutors are describing as the extremely violent murder of his girlfriend’s toddler. The teen was charged in a juvenile petition Monday in the beating death of the 2-year-old girl, who died from complications of internal injuries June 10. KARE 11 is not naming the defendant because he has not been certified to be tried as an adult, although that is expected to happen. In Hennepin County it is presumed that suspects who are 16 or 17 years old will be prosecuted in the adult system unless there is an overriding reason to keep the matter in juvenile court. YORK TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN – An Indian River woman remains hospitalized after a vicious attack left her son and his half-brother dead and three others injured in York Township on Saturday. Vicki Moore, 31, received severe injuries when she and four others were stabbed during a home invasion at about 6 a.m. June 13 in the 9800 block of Crane Road, her uncle Bryce Moore said Sunday. Bryce Moore said the whole family is devastated by the attack, in which Vicki Moore’s son, Timber Brown, 12, and his half-brother Jon Brown, 26, were killed. AUBURN, Alabama – Auburn Police were notified that the 5-year-old girl who was a victim of aggravated child abuse has died as a result of her injuries. Caley Presley, 5, passed away at Children’s of Alabama hospital in Birmingham. The physician in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit pronounced her dead at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. “It has been a traumatic experience for all involved, but we are committed to bringing justice to Caley,” Capt. WISCONSIN – A 3-year-old boy from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has died after he was found with serious injuries from suspected child abuse, including nearly a dozen human bite marks all over his body. Milwaukee police said Aiden Archer passed away Wednesday. He was taken to a hospital Monday after police responded to a report of a sick or injured person and found he had numerous injuries. A news release from police stated that the boy’s 24-year-old mother, Megan Scott, and her 27-year-old boyfriend, Maurice Snyder, were still in custody Wednesday after their arrests Tuesday. An Indiana couple is facing murder and neglect charges following the death of their 1-year-old daughter. Jessica, 32, and Matthew Wagoner, 31, were arrested Friday and charged on Monday with murder and neglect of a dependent resulting in death in connection with the death of their daughter, Zoey. One day before their arrests, authorities were called to the home where the couple lived about an unconscious child. According to court documents, Zoey had several bruises across her face and body, a cut to her forehead, and was foaming at the mouth when authorities arrived. PORT HURON, MI — In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Frank Hawkins got news no relative wants to hear. The Port Huron man sat on a stoop in front of 829 Oak St. after hearing that his five-year-old granddaughter — a child he described as “a beautiful little girl” — had died. “I’m just in total shock,” Hawkins said. “I need to go wake up my wife and tell her our granddaughter died.” Across the street, a boy wearing a backpack sat on his front porch and watched police come and go at the Oak Street home. A crowd numbering in the hundreds of people spilled across two lanes of Oak Street Friday evening in Port Huron to mourn a little girl most of them didn’t know. Some wept openly as they held lighted candles for Mackenzie Maison, the 5-year-old found dead Tuesday at 829 Oak St. in Port Huron. The body of a missing five-year-old has been found after his adult brother was arrested for killing him and his mother and dumping their baby brother in a dumpster. Authorities said that Josue Ramirez-Marinero’s body was found stuck in tree branches on the east bank of the Elkhorn River in Omaha, Nebraska on Monday morning. His older brother, Roberto Martinez-Marinero, told cops last week that he’d thrown the boy off a bridge into the water about a mile upstream from where the body was eventually discovered.  At 11:30am on Monday, Omaha Fire Department divers recovered the body.
