The Perverse Plague – Confronting Society’s Epidemic of Child Molestation

Posted by Sandra On June - 20 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS
THE PERVERSE PLAGUE

It is apparent that today’s society is obsessed and terrified by what appears to be an out-of-control epidemic of child molestation. The Perverse Plague – Confronting Society’s Epidemic of Child Molestation ($24.99, paperback, 9781613790137), a new Xulon Press title from Robert and Angela Banner, invites readers to delve beyond the overly simplistic, politically-correct dialogue of the sexual offender to find answers to end the hysteria. The co-authors invite all audiences to discover the whole truth behind child molestation through the support of a Christian worldview and well-documented psychological truths. They respond to the mystery of why authentic Christian people who are accustomed to making responsible moral decisions can radically shift into embracing deviant sexual behaviors and what can be done to restore them to sustained sexual sobriety. Ultimately, this must-read book offers a lasting solution toward curbing our societal plague of child sexual offending.

Posted by Sandra On June - 17 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS
JOPLIN, Mo. —Author Dave Pelzer told the story of his horrific childhood of abuse in his best-selling book “A Child Called ‘It’: One Child’s Courage to Survive,” but he is in Joplin to tell the story of the city’s resilience after an EF5 tornado hit the city on May 22. Pelzer said he travels the country presenting information about child abuse and counseling survivors and educators. One of the things he’s doing in Joplin is working with foster families who have been traumatized by the tornado, but he’s also pitching in on the recovery effort. This week he is working with volunteers at College Heights Christian Church, passing out supplies.

Posted by Sandra On June - 6 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS
Won’t You Help?
We are doing a Scentsy Buddy Fundraiser. What this means is Scentsy buddies will be sent to DreamCatchers for Abused Children and founder Sandra will pass them out to abused children in shelters that are waiting on good homes to go to.
No child deserves to be abused and all to often the public turns a blind eye to these situations. Well we need to stop turning a blind eye and show these children that there are people out there who care!! The abused children in these shelters are scared and lonely. What a better way to show them they are loved and give them something to call their own and to hold onto when they are scared, than to send them a buddy!!

FARMINGTON, Utah—Family and friends of Ethan Stacy helped organize a walk against child abuse Saturday in Davis County just over a year after the four-year-old boy’s body was found in Weber County. Blue and white handheld windmills symbolizing support for victims of child abuse were left near the Davis County Jail where Ethan’s mother Stephanie Sloop and step-father Nathan Sloop are incarcerated while waiting for their trial for allegedly torturing and killing Ethan then burying his disfigured remains in Ogden Canyon.

$1 Off Every Bottle To Support DreamCatchers For Abused Children

Author: Sheri Carpetenter
************************
As many of you know I am a huge supporter of DreamCatchers For Abused Children.
This group is open to anyone who would like to STOP child abuse & neglect, has been affected by physical, sexual or emotional child abuse, has a child abuse story to tell, is a child abuse advocate, want to discuss every aspect of abuse, or would like harsher sentences for pedophiles…Please join us! (Find Them on Facebook too).
Well I have been working with PostGame and they have offered a special coupon to help support DreamCatchers for abused children. One thing I love most about this company ( besides their products lol ) is the fact that they are all about giving back. They offered me a coupon for my readers and told me that for every bottle sold using that coupon code they would donate $1 to the charity of my choice. Well naturally I chose DreamCatchers as I have worked with them alot in the past and this organization has a special place in my heart.
A little about Post Game:
POSTGAME began in February 2009 as I shopped for shampoo with my 7 and 11 year old sons. Our options that day included products that sold sex with heavy cologne scents and those aimed to meet the needs of much younger kids. As we struggled to reach agreement on our purchase, I realized there was nothing available my sons saw as “cool” that I thought was high quality, age appropriate in scent/message, and effective in cleansing my athletic sons. I recognized that other parents of young athletes must face the same issue and an idea was born: “What if I create a salon quality, health and beauty care product line that revolves around sports?” What is more boy than sports, and what is more positive than the competition and work ethic that sports promote? Read More……
FUNDRAISING DETAILS:
PostGame is offering $1 off every bottle of their products!! When you use coupon code “dreamcatchers” to get your $1 off each bottle when purchasing through their website, PostGame will donate $1 for every bottle purchased with this coupon code directly to DreamCatchers For Abused Children.
