Wilmington, Del. —Approximately one in four girls and one in six boys will be sexually abused before they reach the age of 18, according to Attorney General Beau Biden. That is a number the state hopes to see dramatically decrease after kicking off a new training program designed to teach Delawareans how to spot possible signs of child sexual abuse.

Lil’ Wayne’s New Video Speaks Out Against Molestation

Posted by Sandra On August - 25 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

Lil Wayne is occasionally called a genius in the Hip Hop world. And his recent video production for “How To Love” has really set some hearts on fire. The controversial video has been labeled harsh and the song itself has a deep meaning. The Chris Robinson-directed clip tells the story of an abused mother, who unintentionally leads her daughter to relive her own vicious cycle.

“I have a daughter, Wayne has a daughter, and he really wanted to tell the story,” Robinson told MTV News. “We were talking about statistics of abuse in our community. We were talking about really telling this story for every young woman in the world.”

Project brings families together again

As they sat at the kitchen table playing Monopoly, Bobbi McIntyre and her only daughter recalled various episodes from their tumultuous past: Revelations of child abuse, placement in foster homes, a middle-of-the-night altercation with their husband and father. Tears started to flow. “We cry together,” said Amy, 17. “That’s the best part of it.”

Dreamcatchers for Abused Children Announce New Sponsor: Curtis Braly

Dreamcatchers for Abused Children is pleased to announce their newest sponsor Nashville singing sensation Curtis Braly, and the release of his newest single “Caylee’s Eyes.”

Since the end of the Casey Anthony Trial many movements have been put into action, hoping to enforce stricter laws and harsher punishments for people who are charge and convicted of child abuse, child neglect and child homicide, a worldwide epidemic, rapidly growing throughout our great nation.

Regardless of the outcome of the Casey Anthony Trial, one thing remains certain; two-year old Caylee Anthony’s life was taken way too soon.

The beautiful face and innocent spirit of Caylee will live in our hearts and memories forever. “Caylee’s Eyes” is Braly’s contribution to her memory and his attempt to help raise awareness and provide funding for a much too common tragedy that innocent children are forced to face everyday. Braly personally asks the public to support and join this movement by downloading “Caylee’s Eyes” from popular websites such as iTunes, Rhapsody & Amazon starting August 13, 2011.

Braly announced Friday on his website that all proceeds from the sale of “Caylee’s Eyes” will be donated directly to Dreamcatchers for Abused Children, Braly’s chosen worldwide non-profit 501(c)3 child abuse and neglect organization committed to breaking the cycle of violence against children. Dreamcatchers for Abused Children’s mission is to educate the public on child abuse signs, symptoms, intervention, prevention, statistics, reporting, and helping to assist victims in locating the proper resources necessary to achieve a full recovery.

Dreamcatchers for Abused Children and Curtis Braly hope to stop to this vicious cycle of abuse that is continuously claiming the lives of innocent children. Please join our fight and purchase “Caylee’s Eyes” in an effort to end child abuse, once and for all.

Michigan Radio Show Dedicated To Preventing Child Abuse

DREAMCATCHERS FOR ABUSED CHILDREN: BLOGTALK RADIO SHOW

Child abuse continues to be a huge concern in this country, but society still remains to be silent on the issue. As I fight daily with a wonderful team of men and women from Dreamcatchers for Abused Children for the rights of children I am sometimes overwhelmed and concerned by the amount of people who continue to have a blind eye to child abuse, and neglect to see or admit children are being abused. Not only does this concern me greatly as a parent and grandparent, but this greatly concerns me as a member of society and for the future generations of children in this country to come.

Did you know… Every 13 seconds a child is physically abused in the United States. One in three girls and one in six boys will be sexually abused before the age of 18. Over 85 percent of teenagers who run away from home flee in an attempt to escape some form of abuse; physical, emotional or sexual. Every 10 seconds a child is sexually abused or raped. Today, five children alone will die from neglect and child abuse. By the time you finish reading this article a child’s life will forever be changed by abuse. This has to change, the lives of innocent children depend on it.

It seems everything I was taught as a child; morals, values, respect and dignity went out the window and was replaced with ignorance and no repsect or value for life or children. When will we as a society take a stand and say no more? When will we put our foot down and stop these monstors from hurting, neglecting and killing our children?

Dreamcatchers for Abused Children is Michigan’s largest non-profit organization that offers a free nightly radio talk show Dreamcatchers Talk Radio that is dedicated to promoting child abuse awareness by educating society on the signs, symptoms, statistics, prevention and steps towards recovery. “The Lisa Project”

Face-to-face with child abuse

The strong smell of marijuana penetrates the air and drug paraphernalia is evident throughout the room.  Pill bottles, snubbed out joints and a makeshift meth lab litter the disgusting apartment, and the small refrigerator in the corner of the room is open and completely empty.  And what’s most horrifying is that this drug den is the home to Evan, a young boy whose haunting story is told as part of The Lisa Project a multi-sensory exhibit started by the Child Abuse Prevention Council of San Joaquin County to show the multi-faceted sides of child abuse and how it exists in our society today.
