Hundreds of riders took part in the charitable police escorted ride and after-party.  “We are honored to have teamed up with BACA in an effort to put an end to child abuse,” said Anne Deli, President of Orlando Harley-Davidson. “We were happy to provide motorcycle enthusiasts with an opportunity to support BACA by raising awareness for this worthy cause. PLEASE JOIN OUR CAUSE—HELP PROTECT OUR CHILDREN ON ALL SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES!!! — The medium of computer networks and social forums such as Facebook, twitter and groups and other forums have revolutionized the way we communicate and socialize with each other, it has allowed us to talk to others we will never meet and will probably never know. While most of us use it to talk and share with people in a mostly civil and law biding manner there are others who would use this to share images and videos of illegal material. READ MORE HERE

A Facebook page was created after the two friends heard about a 4-YO girl from Mineola, Long Island, who had lost her hair after treatment for cancer…The page has quickly reached 100,000+ supporters!!

NEW YORK—Over the years, Mattel’s iconic Barbie doll has had every hairstyle imaginable, including a bubble beehive, a ‘60s flip and even multi-colored hair extensions. But she’s never been bald. That may change if the women behind the Facebook page, “Beautiful and Bald Barbie” influence executives at the world’s largest toy company. “We would like to see a Beautiful and Bald Barbie made to help young girls who suffer from hair loss due to cancer treatments, alopecia or trichotillomania,” reads Jane Bingham and Beckie Sypin’s Facebook page, which has almost 40,000 “likes.” “Many children have some difficulty accepting their mother, sister, aunt, grandparent or friend going from a long haired to a bald.”  READ MORE HERE

“UGLY-TED” ANTI-BULLYING CAMPAIGN

Ugly Ted Needs A Best Friend!

Ugly Ted may not be your typical looking teddy bear, but with a beautiful inner soul and lovable heart, he is as adorable and desirable as any of the other teddies out there. Ugly Ted is truly tired of being bullied, harassed and made to feel lonely. While other “prettier” teddy bears are treated with love and respect, Ugly Ted can only dream of feeling accepted and being apart of a family.

“Ugly bears need love too, as they are not ugly inside. No matter what someone looks like, or where they are from, always remember to treat others the way you would want to be treated”, Ugly Ted says.

It’s now up to us to protect bullying victims like Ugly Ted and shower them with the much needed love they deserve.

Please give Ugly Ted a home and a hug by opening your heart and sharing tender loving care! Help make this world a little more beautiful!

Adopt Ugly Ted!

Description
World’s ugliest teddy bear and anti-bullying advocate. The newest innovation in kid’s toys, Ugly Ted’s unique philosophy emphasizes inner beauty and is a child’s new best friend, as well as their greatest teacher.

Bobby Brown Scheduled to Appear on Dreamcatchers Talk Radio

Posted by Sandra On January - 3 - 2012 ADD COMMENTS

Dreamcatchers Talk Radio host Glendene Grant will have a special guest on her Tuesday night BlogTalk Radio Show, Colorado bail bondsman Bobby Brown. Mr. Brown has appeared on over 30 episodes of the A&E TV show Dog the Bounty Hunter prior to a falling out that would led him to sue the A&E network and producers over a breaching agreement. More than six years have passed since Grant’s daughter, Jessica Foster or Jessie, went missing from her Las Vegas home. At no point in time has Grant ever given up hope of finding her daughter Jessie alive. As police continue to investigate, as tips continue to surface but none have been solid leads, she is convinced her daughter is a case of human trafficking. Brown sits down with Grant, Tuesday, 1/3/12  at 8:30 p.m. EST on Dreamcatchers Talk Radio. Join the discussion “LIVE” at: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/dreamcatchersREAD MORE HERE

NATIONAL CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH (April)2012
Opening Ceremonies Sunday April 1st-Sacramento, CA.

April is recognized from coast to coast as National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time devoted to this critically important cause. Opening ceremonies for the 50 state campaign take place in Sacramento Sunday April 1st,kicking off a program which mobilizes masses to help protect our most vulnerable and precious citizens. Dreamcatchers for Abused Children is chairing this event as an official sponsor….Please help support us by contributing to the NCAPM Silent Auction to raise proceeds for child abuse awareness!!!

THE CAUSE: National Child Abuse Prevention Month (NCAPM) is a time set aside to focus specifically on preventing child abuse/neglect within our communities. Specifically by fostering education and collaborations which facilitate the type of awareness required to prevent criminal conduct against the youngest and most vulnerable members of society.

THE CONCERN: With crimes against children on the rise we have a moral obligation to focus upon this serious issue and take action which works against predators and all whom lack the ability or insight to properly protect children in their care.

THE CAMPAIGN: The Greater Sacramento region proudly hosts this 50 state kick off, featuring opening ceremonies Sunday April 1st collectively pulling people and resources together which will call significant attention to this important cause. Events that day include: Departure of Kross Kountry-4-Kids (Folsom Harley-Davidson 115 Woodmere Rd. Folsom,CA.) then a Leadership Luncheon, Family Safety Fair & Heroes With Heart Gala (Sunrise Event Center 11167 Trade Center Drive Rancho Cordova,CA. 95670). The Camaraderie: By pulling together individuals, groups and businesses which have a specific interest in this cause while forming partnerships with the Justice Community, Law Enforceemnt,Education Liasons and  Social Services we are able to facilitate collaborations which produce positive accessible resources that work to fulfill our mission, and secure safer communities for children.

CROSS COUNTRY: Program partners from all 50 states participate in this project, working in harmony with foundational facilitators of Northern California, to generate a message and movement which is effective and brings forth positive sustained results. Incorporated into the United States outreach is a two week motorcycle journey traveling from Sacramento to Washington D.C. and back, serving as a formal and peaceful demonstration of help and hope for children nation wide!

Unspeakable Acts: Why Men Sexually Abuse Children

The essays analyze the gendered politics of state power, language, culture, history, social movements, human rights, and knowledge.

Review

A superb book that takes us into the subjective world of the child molester. It breaks new ground and provides a major contribution to sex research. Vital reading for all those interested in the interpretations of the men who commit unspeakable acts.” -Martin S. Weinberg,Indiana University at Bloomington
