This wasn’t the first time Josi Montell Hall was accused of violently abusing his daughter. But this time there was no doubt, Jacksonville prosecutors said.
A jury agreed Friday, finding Hall guilty of second-degree murder in the 2008 beating death of his 22-month-old daughter, Kyla.

A 21-year-old Billings woman was convicted Friday of abusing an 8-month-old child she was baby-sitting at her home.
A District Court jury returned the guilty verdict against Nevada Ugalde for aggravated assault. She was charged for the injuries suffered by Isaiah Napier on June 11, 2008.

Authorities have accused a Jacksonville man of intentional child abuse.
The Jacksonville Police Department arrested Corey Dinan, 32, of Western Boulevard, late Friday and charged him with two counts of intentional child abuse causing serious bodily injury, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and assault on a child under age 12.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A father in New York who’s facing charges offering his children for sale on Craigslist says the whole thing was a joke.
The ad posted by Joshua Stagnitto read, in part: “Selling my kids on the Craigslist black market. I have two kids, two and one year old.”

Christopher Wright would allegedly trade babysitting services for free room and board.
VALLEJO (KRON) — Vallejo police are searching for more potential victims of a man accused of molesting children and taking pornographic photos of them.
Vallejo police raided Christopher Wright’s Oakland home Thursday where they seized what they describe as “a lot” of child pornography.

FAIRVIEW, N.J. –– A New Jersey woman is pregnant by the same man who is accused of murdering her daughter.
Jakeline Jimenez’s attorney said at a court hearing yesterday that she is four-months pregnant with Yopher Jimenez’ child. Police say on April 4, he slapped her 1-year-old daughter Victoria, bashed her skull against a hard surface, then drowned her in a bathtub.

HOMER, N.Y. (WKTV) – An Assistant Professor at SUNY Cortland is now facing 31 counts, including several rape charges, after allegedly victimizing a teenage girl since the age of 13.
According to State Police in Homer, a joint investigation involving them, Cortland City Police, and SUNY Cortland Police was conducted which identified Daniel DePerno, 39, of Cortland as victimizing a teenage female on several occasions since she was 13 years old. Authorities did not say how old the girl currently is.

BERLIN — A German bishop accused of beating children decades ago when he was a priest has offered his resignation to Pope Benedict XVI, the diocese in Augsburg said Thursday.
The accused man, Bishop Walter Mixa, was one of the church’s most prominent and outspoken conservatives in Germany, and he aggressively defended himself for weeks against charges of physically abusing children in a Bavarian orphanage.

CHICAGO– Neighbors are in shock after a shooting rampage in Chicago’s Marquette Park neighborhood left a woman and three children dead overnight. Two others were hospitalized. Family and friends held a candlelight vigil Wednesday night in front of the house where the tragedy took place.
