Hong Kong- Nearly six out of 10 Hong Kong parents use corporal punishment to discipline their children, a child welfare group said Tuesday.

Researchers for the organization Against Child Abuse said 58 per cent of parents interviewed in a survey admitted to smacking or caning their children in the past 12 months.

Mother on trial for child abuse

BROOKSVILLE, FL — Tai-Ling Gigliotti could have accepted a plea deal, but instead she chose to go forward with this trial.

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Adonis Giron, 43, had a nifty little scam going for a despicable pedophile. He posed as an MTV talent scout to lure young girls and then pry them with promises of fame and fortune. His Myspace page stated he is 26 and makes up to $250,000 as a manager at MTV.

Teen Babysitter Admits Molesting Child

Corbin, KY – A 19-year-old man admits creeping into an 5-year-old child’s room and molesting her while she was sleeping.

NISKAYUNA — A former volunteer high school softball coach will be sentenced next month to two years behind bars after admitting to having sex with a high school student at his home last summer, according to the prosecutor in the case.

At least one of those times, police said, Joseph Annello III gave the girl alcohol.

Deputies in Emmet County arrested a man they say raped an underage teenager several times.

The victim told police the assaults happened more than 20 times in Petoskey, Alanson and Pellston.

STUART — An on-going state investigation into the downloading of child pornography from the internet has led to the door of a Jensen Beach man, where investigators say they found numerous pornographic videos and pictures of pre-teen girls on a home computer, officials said Tuesday.

David Martin, 29, of the 1800 block of N.E. 21st Terrace, Jensen Beach, is being held in the Martin County Jail under a $150,000 bail. The phone company service technician is charged with ten counts of possession of child pornography and each count is punishable by up to 15 year in prison, if convicted.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City police say a 28-year-old woman arrested on first-degree murder and child abuse complaints in the death of her 1-year-old son admitted shoving on the child’s stomach.

Police arrested Brandy Perry on Saturday for the death Friday of Onlabee Blaine. Police initially reported the infant’s name as Blane Onlabee.

It took one phone call to reveal a Central Queensland family’s dark secret of sex abuse which lasted nearly 20 years.

The call triggered a chain of events which saw a father jailed for six years after he pleaded guilty to 20 charges of indecent dealing against three of his children.

Years after the abuse one of the man’s daughters had called her sister to tell her about the abuse, only to find out she’d also been through the same torment.

St. Mary’s County Public Schools continues to work with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office on the investigation and response to the arrest of a Margaret Brent Middle School teacher on Friday, April 30, 2010.

On Wednesday, April 28, 2010, staff members at Margaret Brent Middle School were contacted by parents of a former student concerned that a staff member at MBMS was involved in an inappropriate relationship with their daughter.  School staff immediately initiated an investigation and notified the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office of the allegations.  The staff member, Mr. Jason Paul Hollinger, was placed on administrative leave on April 28, 2010, by the Superintendent of Schools.

Pleasant Grove police say Jason Bradley Garner raped the girl 20 times at his girlfriend’s home.

“This took place within about a five-month time period,” said Pleasant Grove police Capt. Michael Smith.

Smith says Garner would wait for his girlfriend to go upstairs or downstairs, and then molest the girl. The teen’s mom didn’t know anything until the girl couldn’t stand it anymore and told her.

This isn’t the first time Garner has preyed on children.

Thomas Jefferson Race pleaded guilty to three counts of forcible sodomy in Charlottesville Circuit Court today, but estimates that his victims could number as many as 37 over 18 years.

Race, 34, was arrested March 24, 2009, after his first victim, then a five-year-old boy, told police 20 years later of his babysitter’s brutal assaults.
