A Sacramento woman is accused of trying to kill her daughter by pouring gas on the girl and then setting her on fire. Truly terrifying. Neighbors of the suspect, 27-year-old Porche Wright, said they saw—and heard—the whole thing, and are still cringing at the gruesome memory. According to witnesses, Wright has a history of verbally abusing her children. Search Continues For Missing Boy In Yankton

YANKTON, SD – Authorities have released information surrounding a missing 6-year-old boy in Yankton. At approximately 7:29 p.m. Sunday, Lincoln Hilt was reported missing at Riverside Park. Family members were fishing on a boat dock and could not find the 6 year old. Several agencies started a ground search and Yankton County Search and Rescue brought in their dive team. On Monday, authorities are continuing their search in and around the Missouri River.  Hilt was last seen wearing tan pants and a green shirt with tan shoes. He wears glasses and has blonde hair.  His family confirmed his name and released a photo of Hilt Monday afternoon. READ MORE HERE

ROCK HILL, South Carolina – Two former officers sworn to serve and protect the community are accused of hurting their child so badly, officials say, he has to be fed through a feeding tube. The couple had a Department of Social Services (DSS) hearing Monday morning at the York County family court. WBTV’s cameras got a look at Audrey Schurig and Robert Taylor when they left the hearing, which was closed to the public, in Rock Hill with their families. Neither Schurig or Taylor’s lawyers would share what happened inside the courtroom. Infertile Mother Wanted Daughter To Get Pregnant 

PENNSYLVANIA – An infertile woman convinced her new husband to repeatedly rape her 15-year-old daughter so she could have another child. Misty Machinshok, 33, has been jailed for 15 to 30 years for the abuse in which she ‘coached’ the pair on the best positions to conceive, and held her daughter’s hand ‘the first few times’. She planned to tell friends and family that the teenager got pregnant with a stranger at a house party in their home town of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Her 29-year-old husband Gary Machinshok, who she met through a website called onlinebootycall.com, will be sentenced this month after pleading no contest to raping the child ‘every few days’ throughout 2013. Missing 13-YO Girl Found 850 Miles Away After Being ‘Kidnapped by 55-YO She Met Online’

A 13-year-old girl from Missouri who had been missing since Sunday morning has been found in New Mexico, 850 miles away from her home. Hannah Kennish sneaked out of her family’s home to meet up with Raymond Vallia, a 55-year-old man she had met online and developed a relationship with, according to Daily Mail. Vallia, who communicated with Kennish using Facebook, is a married grandfather. Horrific Explosion of Historic Sex Abuse Cases Since Savile

The unprecedented scale of current police investigations into historic child abuse can be revealed for the first time today, as senior officers warn of the challenge of investigating alleged crimes that go back decades.

An investigation by The Mail on Sunday has revealed that:

• Forces around Britain are carrying out more than 60 major investigations into sex attacks and beatings in schools, children’s homes and churches dating back to the 1950s.

• More than 2,000 people have come forward in the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal to say they were abused at institutions or by public figures, including prominent politicians.

• A staggering 1,200 of the alleged victims were inmates of just one institution, a northern borstal once visited by the late Home Secretary Leon Brittan and praised for its ‘short, sharp shock’ regime. He himself is now at the centre of a number of abuse claims.

A former Florida teacher accused of repeatedly having sex with at least three students has pleaded guilty to three dozen criminal counts.  Jennifer Fichter, 30, was set to attend a pre-trial hearing in Polk County Court Thursday morning, but instead she pleaded guilty to all 37 counts of unlawful sexual contact with a minor. Each charge carries a maximum of 15 years in prison. Fichter’s sentencing is scheduled for July 2. Fichter taught English at Central Aerospace Academy in Lakeland but was fired after her arrest last April. Prosecutors said Fichter had sexual relationships with at least three 17-year-old students. One of the trysts resulted in a pregnancy, which Fichter then terminated. READ MORE HERE

Woman jailed for “feticide.” It’s never happened before.

When Purvi Patel showed up in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center’s maternity ward, bleeding and showing a protruding umbilical cord, Dr. Kelly McGuire immediately knew something was wrong. “There should have been a baby at the end of the umbilical cord,” he testified in an Indiana court room. McGuire, who is obligated to report cases of suspected child abuse, called the police, he told PRI. Informed that officials were heading to her home, Patel told her doctors that she’d had a miscarriage and had left her stillborn fetus in a dumpster behind a shopping center. Still in his hospital scrubs, McGuire followed police cars to the scene and examined the fetus, which he pronounced dead on arrival. Patel was charged with child neglect, and later with killing her fetus, and on Monday she was sentenced to 20 consecutive years in prison. READ MORE HERE

A Gentilly man was sentenced Monday to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to 14 counts of forcible rape and nine counts of child pornography involving a juvenile — a small fraction of the nearly 900 counts he faced for raping girls and recording the acts as a self-styled pornographer. A bespectacled Edward Bush, 48, stood silently as Criminal District Court Judge Keva Landrum-Johnson sentenced him to a pair of consecutive 25-year terms on two counts of forcible rape; concurrent 40-year sentences on another dozen rape counts; and 20 years each on nine counts of pornography involving juveniles. A California teacher has been arrested for alleged child abuse. Thelmo Garcia, a fourth grade teacher at Rosewood Elementary School on Croft Avenue in Los Angeles, was arrested on Wednesday, March 11, and is being held on $100,000 bail. The Los Angeles Unified School District released a statement on Thursday, stating that Garcia had been arrested off campus on suspicion of abuse towards his students. A man sent to prison for 25 years for sexually assaulting a child has been sentenced to another 40 for hiring a hit man to kill the prosecutor in his case. Edward Carreon, 32, of Chicago, was convicted earlier this year for solicitation of murder for hire after he planned to kill the pregnant lawyer who has handling the child molestation case against him. Carreon, who planned to pay hit man ‘Marcus’ when he got out of prison, had received the name of an alleged assassin from a fellow prison inmate while awaiting sentencing for his 2011 assault. KANSAS CITY, Missouri – A 19-year-old Kansas City mother has been charged with abuse and assault of her one-year-old daughter. Donniesha Lasha Lee was charged with child abuse and domestic assault in the first degree today by Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker. Lee is accused of repeatedly hitting her child in the chest, asking the child to be quiet. Multiple individuals who witnessed it requested Lee to stop and give them the child. Court records also say at least one witness attempted to physically take the child away from Lee.  READ MORE HERE

FLORIDA – It was the last resort of a hard-working single mother-of-four who, by her own admission, had ‘never asked for anything from anyone’. On Tuesday Helen Campochiaro, 38, of Hudson, Florida, set up an account on Go Fund Me, appealing for support for her family after she was left injured and financially drained by a recent car crash and needed to find a new place to live within two weeks. However on Wednesday night, her 12-year-old son, Kevin Pimental, shot dead his six-year-old brother inside the mobile home he shared with his mother and three siblings, wounded his older brother in the leg, and then turned the gun on himself. Campchiaro was working one of her two jobs at the time. ‘The mother’s going through an absolute living hell right now,’ Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said Thursday.
